anyway i watched the one ep of rgg x nihon touitsu tonight, kind of lame that IGN hardsubbed it and plastered a giant watermark over the bottom but it's free on youtube and i imagine it'll get solved sooner or later anyway. peak, no notes, exactly the kind of shit they should have been doing from the start, how did it take twenty years to write a yakuza 1 where kashiwagi gets lines to say?

#the pacing is immaculate too so far they've managed to condense it really well #and i feel like a parrot saying this but this is how i always wanted them to handle the remake series #what's the point in tackling an old story with the intent to elaborate on parts of it if you're not going to actually polish it after #it's like trying to edit a novel one chapter at a time in sequence #the end product ends up less cohesive than the original even though the new stuff was added to clarify other parts of the story #you have to just rewrite it from the ground up while keeping the same foundations which the NHT crew have done a good job of so far #the casting is great too yama makes me not hate majima being on screen and nakaya gets to play his guy on screen and i need to eat yasu and #me #text #rgg #nihon touitsu #rgg x nht

There's a moment when Motomiya Yasukaze said that Yakuza's world is the Ultimate BL. And I think I understood that with this scene.

I'm not into BL, I mean I don't watch drama at all or read yaoi, but this is the most beautiful "declaration" I've ever seen. I was speechless when I saw this scene.

A little context : these two are close friends since childhood and always supporting each other since, evoluting in a violent world.

They both entered the Yakuza world and being separated. Yuuto (left) was manipulated by other people, thinking that Renji (right) betrayed him and their patriarch.

I mean, this is not supposed to be an usual BL (this is not a BL at all, like no kiss, no sexual tension or else) , but there's always a thing about " men falling for men". It's about to be with someone you truly trust, like Yuuto could litteraly give his own life for Renji and vice versa.

After this, Yuuto said that he will never leave Renji again.

I don't know if it's because I love angst but... ♥
