A cute idea I just had: Iris gifting Nikki a puppy that they both train to be a service dog for Nikki’s PTSD

Normally I don’t take art requests but I think I’ll make an exception here, I’ve been wanting to draw more Nikki and Iris art but I haven’t been able to come up with any ideas.

I will NOT be drawing anything sexual. More innocent forms of intimacy like kissing/hugging/cuddling/holding hands etc. are okay but I’d feel wrong drawing anything sexual considering what they both went through in their films (especially Nikki…)

Angst is fine too.

Every time I see that Bloody Mary ship trending (which is basically everyday lmao) it just makes me wish the Compassion ship was just as popular.

I know I need to start drawing and writing more to get this blog moving some more but I’d also love to see more people make stuff for this ship too 😭😭😭😭😭 I’d be so happy to reblog them.

Nikki and Iris watching TV together

I know this is a pointless and I’m just overthinking unnecessary details but this got me wondering about when my own canon for Nikki and Iris meeting should take place.

In my canon, everything happens a year after the events of Obsession and Companion (both films take place in the same year in my eyes). As far as I know, there was nothing in Obsession that showed what year the film took place in (I did just remember that Bear was looking through Nikki’s Instagram…were any dates visible on her posts? They also could’ve been old posts of hers so idk how helpful that would be…). Companion also had a self-driving car in it, and I know self-driving cars are a thing irl right now (I’m pretty sure they’re not as advanced as the one in the film though…at least I don’t think so? Idk I’m not into cars lmao) so that does tell me Companion does take place a bit into the future.

I don’t want the story to take place beyond the 2020s so…I’m gonna say Obsession and Companion take place in 2028 and my own story takes place in 2029.

I finally made another drawing, this time a simple drawing of them at the beach with the puppy Iris got for Nikki to train as her service dog; I spent a long time thinking of a name for the puppy and I decided on Crystal because Nikki was into crystals and Crystal’s job is to help Nikki heal :3

I was thinking about Nikki and her writing…in my canon she does eventually get her passion for writing back with the help of both her therapist and of course Iris, but I imagine for a long time before that she must’ve been too afraid to show Iris any of her unfinished work.

For one thing, remember how Bear didn’t understand the difference between romance and a love story. I can see her worrying that Iris wouldn’t understand the difference either, which would mean she would be unable to have deep discussions with Iris about her work (Iris absolutely understands the difference btw).

But more than that, I imagine she can’t even think about her Hansel and Gretel story (yes, I do think it was the real Nikki who wrote that story and that was the love story she was referencing at the start) without remembering the humiliation of having Wish Nikki read part of it out loud during that party.

Now obviously we were never given full context over exactly what kind of book it was, but from my own headcanon, Hansel and Gretel’s incestuous love was not meant to be read as positive and romantic (“it’s not a romance, it’s a love story”) but read as horrific. I think it was meant to be a dark fantasy novel about trauma. However, Wish Nikki unfortunately read it as genuinely romantic, and to make things worse, she specifically chose a very disturbing passage to read from. So she had some of her work read without permission and without the context that it’s not meant to be romantic. Can you imagine how humiliating that must feel?

So yeah, I imagine Nikki must’ve especially felt too terrified to share that specific story with Iris. Honestly even without the party incident, I think anyone would feel nervous telling someone that they’re writing a dark fantasy novel about Hansel and Gretel being in an incestuous relationship as a result of childhood trauma. Well eventually Nikki feels brave enough to share it with Iris, who doesn’t react to it with disgust at all, she actually finds it genuinely interesting and is dying to know what happens next.

Eventually Nikki gains back the confidence to finish the story, and Iris helps her get it published. The book ends up being a hit. Nikki’s passion for writing has now fully returned, and Iris is right by her side cheering her on.

I was trying to think of cute headcanons about Nikki and Iris celebrating each other’s birthdays and it occurred to me that poor Iris doesn’t have one because, well, she was never born, just built :(

Maybe they research what date she was built by Empathix and they treat that as her birthday? Actually I just thought of a better idea: they treat the day she killed Josh as her birthday, especially since that’s also the night she was given full control, so it’s like she was reborn in a way. Yeah, I’m going with that.

I just browsed through Companion screencaps on Fancaps to see what the date shown on Josh’s phone was and the answer is June 24th. So yeah, that’s Iris’s birthday.
