They are at Brightside along the Niles Canyon Railway near Pleasanton and Fremont, CA. The FM was restored by the Golden Gate Railway Museum, and the others by the volunteers of the Pacific Locomotive Association. That time of the year where Highway 84/Niles Canyon Road is closed to vehicular traffic and opens up for cyclists, hikers & runners in an effort to create a Class 1 Trail through Niles Canyon. Being a Fremont local & hiker, I’m all for creating & implementing more trails into the trail system within the East Bay Regional Park District. Especially through the historic and beautiful Niles, Fremont. Had a good time exploring the canyon & walking 6.4 miles, and checking out the booths and food trucks after. Happy to see it so busy with cyclists, hikers & families while being active in the outdoors. 🌲🥾 —————— 2nd photo of me is where Charlie Chaplin once stood. "Niles Canyon 1" This is a series of shots from a few months back when we took a trip through Niles Canyon. If you haven't been there it is one of the hidden gems of the bay area - a small little hamlet connected to the Fremont area that features old trains, antique stores, and a Silent Film museum in honor of the days before Hollywood was the hub of film in California.
