“How could you think this wouldn’t hurt me?”
Cassandra and V
(post DMC5)
It wasn’t often Cassandra had a chance to talk to V. Hell, she had long since believed that she would never see V again.
And here he was, protecting a Vergil with a Yamato sticking out of his chest. In a glorious blaze of electricity and ichor, V orchestrated destruction upon the demon who had driven Vergil to this point. Cassandra could only watch, eyes wide and blurry from tears.
As V settled to the ground, he took a passing glance to her. His expression, once of confidence, faltered.
“Cassandra...”
“How could you think this wouldn’t hurt me...!” She growled at V. “I saw you crumbling before my eyes! If we have been a moment too late...”
“I know. I know.” He sighed, running a hand through his snow-white hair. “Alas, all this is illusions. The only one real here is me and even that is fading fast.” He glanced to Vergil briefly. “I’m sorry. For worrying you.”
“Worry me my ass.” She growled. “I could slap you right now.”
“I know. I know. But save that for Vergil.” With a smile, he returned to Vergil. Vergil slowly stood, pulling the Yamato out of his midsection with an exhale. He turned to Cassandra-
Before being promptly slapped in the face.
“...I deserve that.”
“I want to wipe that grin of your face with my sword, but my mother taught me to play nicely.”
Protective Dadte and Tay?
(Set during The Animated Series)
Dante hated PTA meetings. He hated dealing with people as is, they were harder to kill than demons. His little girl, however, needed an education so here he was, dealing with fucking Karens about how their little Timmy was so fucking perfect and could do no wrong. He ran his hand over his face and groaned.
He hated it here.
“Mister...er...Sparda.” He now felt a tinge of regret picking that surname but they needed one so he had to give on. He gave the name of Sparda on the spot, having nothing else to draw from, so now he was Mister Dante Sparda. “You claim that my Timothee harassed your Taylor?”
“Exactly. Good, we’re getting somew-”
“What a absolute lie!” The woman huffed. “My Timothee wouldn’t do anything like that! Your daughter is obviously lying for attention.” She smirked at her totally fool-proof logic. His demonic blood roared at her false accusations.
“I want to wipe that grin off your face with my sword but my mother taught me to play nicely.” Dante growled. The woman stared at him before backing off. Dante grumbled and went to the dessert table to grab a couple cookies. Maybe his sunshine would like a couple...
Tay and Nero kissing between the shoulder blades
(set during Lightning Wings)
It was the sound of a purr that woke the witch up in the wee hours of the morning. Taylor slowly blinked awake, aware of lips pressed against the skin between her shoulder blades. She let out a sigh.
“Did I wake you?” Her familiar, Nero, asked softly against her skin.
“Your purring did.” She murmured. Nero let out a hum of mild disinterest before kissing that same place again. “I didn’t tell you to stop though.”
“Good.” Nero purred again before continuing to pepper his kisses.
“You’re safe with me, I’ll protect you.” Vergil and his grandbaby twins
(post DMC5, references a private commission)
Vergil stared down at the two infants slumbering in their cribs, a storm of thoughts in his head.
Twins. His son had twins. A boy and a girl, Vera and Credo. He was a grandfather, good god a grandfather.
Twenty years ago, he would never have dreamed of domestic bliss, never dreamed of having a son in the first place, never dreamed of anything that had happened.
But here he was, alone in the dark nursery with his thoughts and two slumbering infants.
“You will be safe with me. I’ll protect you. Both of you.” He murmured, a silent vow. He may had failed with Nero, in all matters, but not again. Never again would he, the eldest son of Sparda, fail.
Cassandra and V kissing curve of the spine
(post Baked Blooms)
Vitale slowly blinked awake, eyes meeting the dark blue of the darkness before the dawn. His eyes met the slumbering form of his lover, Cassandra Sagefire. He let out a soft sigh, sitting up.
Nightmares were the strangest things, weren’t they?
He was surprised he didn’t wake up screaming. Pieris’ attack, Nero’s Devil Bringer robbed from him, and the fear that came with all of that...he hated it. He rolled over, away from Cassandra.
“Vitale?” Cassandra’s voice broke through the quiet. “NIghtmare?” He didn’t respond. He heard the bed creak before he felt a pair of lips against the curve of his spine. He gasped softly. “There we go.”
“What?”
“You’re always so quiet when you have nightmares.” Cassandra murmured against his bare skin, continuing to pepper kisses. “You can trust me with your nightmares. I promise.”
“...It was about Pieris. And Nero.” He admitted softly. Cassandra let out a hum.
It was a start.
“I hope the walls are thick.” with the threesome
( noncanon, V/Cassandra/Vergil, sequel to this fic )
Cassandra smirked as Vitale carefully undid the delicate pearl necklace around her neck. As far as she was concerned, the dinner was a rousing success: her father and that stubborn council were utterly shocked at her two boyfriends. Any insult died from Vergil’s icy glare. All of them had gone to a swanky hotel for the night, to travel to a local attraction outside the city. All the more to show off her handsome boyfriends to the world.
She felt Vitale’s lips press against the back of her neck. She hummed at the kiss. “Did you enjoy yourself tonight?”
“I did.” He purred, helping her undo her dress. “You were radiant.” She held up her dress with her hands. She heard the rush of energy behind her and blinked.
“Vergil?” Cassandra asked. Vitale let out a hum.
“I believe he had a difficult time...restraining himself.” Vitale mused. “And so had I, I must admit.”
“...I hope the walls are thick.”
“I hope not.” Vergil rumbled behind her, voice warped from demonic energy. “I want them to hear you scream our name.” She instinctively let go of the dress, letting the sparkling fabric pool to the floor.
“Tell me who did this to you.” Tay and Nero and Vergil
(post DMC5)
Taylor whimpered as she poured over potions and her alchemy books. Somehow, some way, Nero had Triggered and gone completely feral.
“Grrr...” The devil growled, trapped in a cage of demon metal, something Nico managed to cobble together to hold the feral devil.
“Vergil.” Taylor said, catching the attention of the half-devil leaning against the wall. “I need you to tell me who did this to Nero.” Vergil took a deep breath.
“I believe the demon is a relation to Echidna, Vyletongue. Before I slew the demon, he threw a pod at Nero while he was in his Devil Trigger. It burst and covered him with pollen and before I knew it, he had Red Queen at my throat.”
“An inhalant...” She murmured, looking to Nero. He snarled, slamming against the bars.
They visibly bent.
Her eyes widened before she quickly resumed work. “That cage isn’t going to hold him forever...” She muttered. Vergil looked to Nero, who snarled at him.
“Stay down.” Vergil growled in the demonic tongue. Nero’s gold eyes widened before he growled again. Taylor let out a gasp as a small explosion burst out of her vial.
“I have it!” She looked to Nero. “I need you to restrain him.” Nero’s eyes widened before he snarled loudly at her. Vergil scowled as she stepped back, holding the vial. Vergil transformed into his Devil Trigger, letting out a loud growl. His wings shuddered as he growled. The smaller devil growled back at him, a more submissive (but still unhappy) growl. Taylor carefully stepped forward, kneeling down in front of the cage. Nero glanced to Vergil, who shot him a stern glare (or what Taylor assumed, given the lack of visible pupils in Vergil’s Devil Trigger). She knelt down in front of the cage and carefully poured the mixture into Nero’s unwilling mouth. Nero looked up at Vergil before swallowing, making a grumpy face (that was honestly cute, if Nero wasn’t a feral demon at the moment). The devil yawned and curled up on the floor of the cage, scales fading to skin. Vergil returned back to his human form, watching as Nero’s human form laid in the cage. He carefully opened the cage and picked up his slumbering son.
“Nero...”
“He’ll be asleep for a while but...” Taylor smiled. “He’s gonna be fine.” The half devil let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank you.”
