HEHEHEHE HIIIIII NINE :D another day of you enabling my rui obsession i see.. let me think about this one. you know damn well i will not be able to settle on JUST ONE answer.

when i think about a "best friend" for rui, i first think about someone who is calm and grounded. someone who is thoughtful, someone who reminds rui to take care of himself while also supporting him and his bizarre ideas. someone who is emotionally perceptive and intelligent and can tell when something is bothering him/he's bottling something up. when together, they don't feel like they have to pretend to be someone else. they feel just right, like they can just sit next to each other doing their own thing. they share their interests and passions together, and overall, they just have lots of Nice Times together.

if we're thinking within wxs, nene is the first who comes to mind (my horrible and disgusting ruinene bias), but i can't just decide on ONE when all the relationships rui shares with wxs are so special and important in their own way.

but if we're talking outside of wxs.

HONAMI. think about it

honami, the grounding pillar of leo/need. honami, who learned to use her voice, to stand up for herself and what she believes in. honami, who cares about her friends so so much and would do anything to see them smile. honami, who sees the good in everybody, and never hesitates to lend a helping hand. honami, who is hardworking and thoughtful in every little thing she does, no matter how insignificant it may seem to anyone else.

on the other hand, rui, the director of wonderlands x showtime who brings out the best in his troupe mates and makes them shine. rui, who dedicates his life and energy into his work and learning more about the world + the people around him. rui, who is so tender and gentle with every little thing and notices details that others don't. rui, despite his circumstances, chose to love each and every time.

i think they'd compliment each other very well!! i'd like to think that honami used to be quite intimidated by rui at first because. well. he's eccentric, he's unconventional, he's silly. but she appreciates that!! she's always impressed and in awe of his ideas and inventions, and reminds him to stay hydrated and eat his meals. i think she would chastise him for sleeping late until one day, rui sees her with the HEAVIEST EYEBAGS and he eyes her like. "what happened to sleeping earlier..." he's very good at letting honami know of her strengths when she's in the dumps, and although honami doesn't exactly know what rui is yapping about 90% of the time, she always listens :)

and they could talk about space and animals together :) how cute is that!

however, on that note, it's really hard to choose an exact best friend for rui because i want him to be best friends with everybody.. like i could make a whole post about rui and shiho and their parallels, or one about rui and ena and their relationships with their art, or how much i want more rui and mmj interactions!!!!!!
