Episode 18: Invisible Marie (Flash Fiction Week)
Marie walks through the aisle like a ghost. She imagines she’s unseen. She dodges carts, and spins around people. It’s fun being invisible. It’s also fun being anything but invisible. As she glides along the end caps, avoiding children and making faces at their parents, she sees her supervisor, Clancy.
She’s lucky Clancy’s had a crush on her since eighth grade. She doesn’t try to lead Clancy…

<sweater weather>
sweater weather is officially here. this time of year, it's all about layers. and we all know i'm a big fan of blazers popped over a button-down. so guess who is in hog heaven? as far as i'm concerned, it doesn't get much better than when a blazer is combined with a sweater. especially if that sweater jacket has fab details like a marled finish.
today's ootd gets down to business with a glen plaid skirt and white button-down. add a crewneck in a contrasting color, and it's instant nine-to-five casual. but pop the sweater jacket over this ensemble, and it's transformed into office chic. now all that's left are the accessories to keep this look modern and fresh. block heels are on trend and ever so comfortable. but let's amp up the outfit with a pair of red patent leather. a black tote is always office-appropriate. but remember, the devil is in the details. so look for one that's slightly different from the pack. like this patent leather tote with a long strap.
labels: skirt Banana Republic (old, similar here); shirt Talbots; crewneck J.Crew; sweater jacket Talbots; shoes (similar here and here); handbag 1.2.3

Nine to Five Submission.
So this is the (somewhat) finished automata that i had to do for Wood work class during Semester 2.
Long story short it is suppose to be a bird swooping onto a nest while carrying a collection of twigs. I say somewhat finished because there is still work to be done.
For this i shall review the creation in what i liked and what i didn't like about it.
Positives
I feel the major positives of this project have been the bird that drew for the end of the arm... and the arm itself. A really good feeling that the Tutor claimed when experimenting with the project was that the arm reaction and the crank was "Satisfying". I'll accept it.
Negatives
It's unfinished. This is something that i will return to at a later point to complete as I feel there is potential for growth and evolution in this device. This is all down to time keeping i feel. There were moments when I didn't devote enough time to areas and dedicated too much time to certain areas. The Tutor, Chris, did comment saying how I spent a bit to much time building things that would effectively amount to prototypes; Well, he's not wrong.
Oh, I also did a collection of sketches and notes of previous designs for the project.
It belies the consensual pretense that the main thing going on in this life is work and the making of money. I love it when passion rips open that dull nine-to-five façade and bares the writhing orgy of need underneath.
