I flipped when I saw fuwa_pastel had this sticker book for sale on their Etsy and KNEW I had to own it. I've always been obsessed with stickers (and Lisa frank), and when I was the kid I have very fond memories of going to the Walgreens down the street with my mom and sibling and leaving for home with a Lisa Frank sticker book (I had multiple lul) just like this one. The Lisa Frank cover art, the brightly colored glossy pages, the agonizing over which stickers to stick where, it's all so nostalgic and perfect. 💖💞🦄

I've recently been looking for sticker books again and have been disappointed to see that they aren't really a thing, or at least not commercially popular. In this quest I happened upon this one, and was transported right back to the mid-nineties with my family in Walgreens, chomping at the bit to bring this work of art home. I was so tickled to see that some of the stickers Sarah stuck in here were some of my personal favorites I had as a kid and stuck in my own sticker book (the little kitties, for instance). Great minds think alike. 😎

Wherever Sarah is, I hope she is happy, in good health, and still collecting hella stickers. Her starter collection is safe with me and I'll treasure it always. 💕😻👽

I Don’t Know About You, But I’m Really Excited for Disney+

I’m an older Gen Z kid; I wasn’t born when most of the classic Disney films were in cinemas. Growing up, we went to the cinema occasionally, but we didn’t have a movie theatre in my town and tickets were relatively expensive.

I grew up in the midst of the transition from VHS tapes to DVDs. We had certain titles in one format. Eventually, we got different titles in a different format. For years, neither was a particularly good collection. I couldn’t find the titles I wanted and even then I didn’t have the necessary pocket money.

Over the years, older kids would mention their favourites: Aladdin, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mulan. Films that I hadn’t seen or could barely remember. I needed a Disney education , but it was hard to come by.

By the time I developed an awareness of my cultural shortcomings and the disposable income necessary to remedy the issue, it was too late. The transition from DVDs to streaming had begun. I could find loads of amazing films online, but few Disney ones. (safely/legally) How can one truly enjoy the remakes if they have no frame of reference?

The only DVD player I have access to is in my parents’ house. I’m in college, so I’m not usually there for extended periods of time, except perhaps during the summer.

I cannot wait to just select a film from from hundreds and hit play in the privacy of my own home, 24/7, with no need to search endlessly or endure the gaze of a cashier who is judging me for buying a Disney DVD in my early twenties or going to see a kids’ film by myself.
