her design. i don’t know if i can express how much hatred and anger boiled up in me within the first few seconds of seeing her design. now obviously i don’t think it’s that bad from a basic standpoint, the pizza dress is actually quite cute. but from a character design standpoint its way too on the nose for my tastes. like i'm sure theres a better way to show that a character is a pizza chef without giving them a pizza dress?? hers is probably my roughest design considering it was the very first and done weeks before the others. i wanted to give her a chef uniform and some accessories—her earrings and hair tie are bell peppers and olives, and her hair clips are meant to vaguely look like cheese and pepperoni.
i didn’t have any issues with her backstory so its just paraphrased
nishiguchi would be a huge role model for erina, showing her how to be part of the yakuza through actions and not just appearance, with kumada eventually being driven to kill tei to protect everyone using what she learned from nishiguchi. though she’s reliable, as proven in the bleeding motive, she can be a bit abrasive and loud, which is why ogura, yaitabashi, hirose and maekawa don’t let her in on the plan till after chapter 5’s trial. she would also be the one to handle the food since from what i understand the cast isn’t getting a sustainable supply of food? i would change it to be where they are supplied with food, and the deliveries are far enough apart that they have to ration but close enough that they aren’t going to starve
nothing else to say so here’s her backstory:
Mutsuko Nishiguchi is the youngest of four children, and began working full time at the family restaurant, Hitohiki Pizza, when she graduated. By day, she manages cooking, cleaning, pickups and deliveries. By night, she handles what she's described as "family business." Unbeknownst to many, Mutsuko's father is part of the Yakuza and head of the Nishiguchi Crime Family. Mutsuko is destined to inherit his position despite being the youngest. Her eldest brother, Keiji, chose to pursue school abroad, which her father reluctantly approved. Shiichi, the next eldest, wasn't considered for the position due to supposedly lacking intelligence. The youngest brother of the three, Reo, was killed in a retaliatory shooting the year before. Her mother was never considered for the position, but she had died from childbirth complications after having Mutsuko. Mutsuko is confident in her ability to handle both family businesses, and looks forward to eventually taking control of both.
