Something grew taut within an already tense body. Coldsnap side-eyed the villain like he just spat in his coffee (not that the other man could see it). And that was just from Nitromax laughing in his general direction.

The reaction to the beam, despite how slowly it thawed the ice, was immediate. Coldsnap had been keeping an eye on the building while evacuation was still underway. More ice formed by the supports of the building as well as around Coldsnap himself. It was unfocused and imprecise but it did what it does.

"I don't do winters. Nuclear or not."

'Winter' implies something prolonged and part of an established cycle. It's an entirely different thing from a coldsnap - intense in its suddenness.

Much like the frost that was spreading all the way to where Nitromax was.

The vigilante commented, cheerfully as always, though lightly tilted her head at the floating guy. Hm. He sure isn't coming down to get more on eye-level with her, huh? Even though she is sure he was taller anyway. It makes her rub the back of her neck in a most dramatic way.

" Can't you come down from zhere~? I mean, my neck's gonna start to hurt if I have to look up zhe vhole time! Heh~ "

The vigilante doubted he will do that. Does seems like kinda a dick in her opinion. More the reason for her to be a little anoyance even more.

" Hm? My specialities? Zhat's easy! I can make a hell of an amazing coffee! My usual vork includes flirting and annoying my vay around, and oh! Oh! Oh! I know zhis GREAT bubble tea shop owner! He makes zhe best bubble tea you could find in town! "

Does anyone really except a normal answer from this lady at this point? If he does, he sure is gonna learn that she is most of the time simply bullshitting her way around.

Somehow, they should have seen that literal response coming. But it does seem like Nero had other things on his mind, things that bothered them.

"Keep it cool. Suppose I can do that, it's not really too much effort. But it seems like you've got a lot bugging you. Is it related to you trying to keep things clandestine?"

"Got it." Antares had only ever been on death ray duty once in his career but the directions given to him this time sounded simple enough.

Although, he was kinda hoping he wouldn't be put on customer service so soon.

"Quick question though," he looks up for a moment. "What do I tell them if they start thinking it's all a bluff if I don't fragment the moon soon enough?"

Antares idly glanced around the room. He'd have to check around for security cameras and the like later. Not that he was up to anything in particular but he's worked under some real anal micromanagers before and he'd really would rather not be caught with his hand down his pants (scratching his ass, not...not something else).

Hell, he barely knows how Nitromax was as an employer. Or really, anything outside of his supervillain reputation.

"Oh and is there anyone else around here? Maintenance? Anyone I can contact if the death ray stops working?" It sounded like he'd be here for a while.

It was easy, terribly easy for Atieno to get rid of people when they felt like it. Honestly, it was a wonder that they weren't doing such things more often - but they figured throwing such tactics around wasn't their style.

Still when they saw Nero dealing with these very argumentative individuals, they didn't have the patience to see it go on much longer.

And so... here they were. With his opponents disappeared and likely disintegrated at the same time.

"That was me. Yes. I know it's a bit sudden but.. that's the kind of thing I can do just to.. get things over with already."

"...Right. I think that was the point in the first place. Good to know that we seem to be on the same page here. Eluding their understanding is going to be crucial to getting through this.. uh experience I would say."

Accompanying Nitro on some of his ventures, really meant diving deeper into both the intense but absolute ball-shit of his endeavors. And Atieno knew at this point, if one was going to indulge in such activities - they had to truly roll with it for it be 'success'.

Whatever that seems to mean.

"But I'm ready to head in there, whenever you are."

"You're a hats and pipes kinda guy. Me, I'm more sunglasses and cigarettes." Nero fished through his suit pocket and held up his stylish eyewear, and a worn out pack with a few darts for the other agent to see.

"Not as classy as a pipe. But you can nab a few favors when somebody asks to bum smokes."

"I understand the basic principle, believe me." Kent looked the other man up and down, eyes narrowing as a small and cutting smile drifted across his lips. "I used to favor cigarettes, for one." The other point was left implied as he pulled out his lighter and started puffing on the aforementioned pipe.

"You sound disappointed," the agent chirped. "What was it you hoped to wrench out of me, eh?"
