Cycling problems maybe?
So back in the day (aka over the summer) when I actually did my fishless cycling with ammonia, I got nitrate readings. However, since I've had fish in the tanks I've never gotten a nitrate reading (using the liquid API test kit). Am I doing something wrong? I've been dosing stability with each weekly water change because I'm worried about my cycle, but still nothing. No ammonia, no nitrites, and no nitrates. Is it possible that it is cycled, and the bioload is just low enough that the few plants I have take up all the nitrates? Or is it actually not cycled?
