#nitrogen era

I always love seeing people who highlight traces of nice sights in the Nitrogen era.

That said, I wish I could say this character growth was intentional, but sadly it's this and Thomas and James' friendship in this era, and the one before, that only came about because of the pressure of making preschool shows more candy coated.

Less of things like the engines saying 'shut up' or such bickering was pushed more at the time. In spite of even the bolder steps some kids shows took then, the more harmless ones got pushed in popularity.

Back to the Thomas/Gordon dynamic, if they had say... Andrew Brenner, Davey Moore and others were to write for the Nitrogen era more, I'm not saying the alliance wouldn't be explored more at all, just there'd be a little bit of disagreements or teasing here and there.

While we're at it, I might as well say seeing James and Thomas have friendly races sometimes was quite sweet in the Hit era.

Okaaaaaay.... This Hot Take of mine is definitely going to enrage the Thomas Fandom.....

But you know what? I genuinely DO NOT care what they think. So I'm just going to say it.

Bash, Dash, and Ferdinand did not deserve the ravenous hatred they got from this fandom.

Ever since Misty Island Rescue released, these 3 American Locomotives have been given nothing but scorn, ridicule, rage, and animosity on a level of which I haven't seen since Bendy from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends.

And you know what. They didn't even deserve it.

Bash, Dash, and Ferdinand, have been called many things. Annoying, Pointless, waste of precious oxygen, an afornt to nature, and basically any offense slur you could possibly imagine from Early 2010's Thomas Fandom.

And I'll be honest, after having actually seen the special they debuted in.....

I ain't seeing it chief...

These 3 are just Looney, chill American dudes who live on a foggy island off the coast of Great Britain..... They ain't even annoying in the slightest.

Wanna know who I consider to ACTUALLY be annoying? And worthy of at least some hatred?

Bill and Ben.

And I don't even hate them.

I just find them to be a better example of Annoying characters in Thomas.

Even as a kid, their episodes were always some of my lesser favorites. I found them to be Uncomfortable, rude, annoying, and generally intolerable to be around.

Hell, one of the most hated Classic Series episodes stars them. "Buffer Bother".

There, their just annoying little pissants all just because one got silver buffers....

But I don't hate them, yet everytime the Logging Locos spoke, you'd swear they committed a massive ethnic cleansing with how the Thomas Fandom reacts to them.

Yet when Bill & Ben to things that would've hurt dozens of innocent clay pit, and quarry workers, the fandoms just like, "Oh that's just how they always are! Don't mind them!"

Yet when Ferdinand says his catchphrase, the Fandom is 5 seconds away from calling the Police.

And it's so fucking sad too. Because the Fandom made such a bitch fit about them, Mattel COMPLETELY wiped them from the shows existence from Series 17-onward.

No second chances to prove themselves, no cameos, Misty Island itself is barely even mentioned by name much after Mattel took over.

And they were the ONLY Cgi characters that were dropped after the Mattel buyout. These guys were so unnecessarily hated, the The show itself treated them like they were nothing more than a bad drug trip.

It's tragic.

It really fucking is.

They had potential to shine. But the fandom was too elitist, to stubborn, and to foaming-at-the-mouth enraged towards the Logging Locos to even have them ever even be MENTIONED by name.

Now THAT is the single most pathetic thing I've ever seen a fandom do.

Bully 3 characters so much, that their wiped from history.

And yet, it's been 5 years since the CGI show concluded.... And they never got even a SHRED of justice...

Rest in piece Bash, Dash, Ferdinand.... I'll miss y'all....

You never deserved this.

Good evening fellow Sudrians. I hope y’all are enjoying your week. I know I am. But in any case, I just wanted to call your attention to this Season 13 episode: The Early Bird. The episode itself is pretty meh; but the reason I uploaded here is because of the standout characters: Gordon & James.

Their line deliveries are so on-point that’s not even funny. Kerry Shale nails James’ snootiness to a T and don’t get me started on his Gordon voice. The way Gordon asks Thomas if he’s able to deliver Percy’s mail showcases a perfect balance of concern and grandeur with a dash of pompousness that the big blue engine is known for.

Despite the abhorrent writing this era is infamous for, it got certain character moments just so perfectly. I’ll give that to the Nitrogen Era absolutely.

Evening all, admin here to tell you about something I actually love about the early Nitrogen Era of Thomas & Friends. It's how well it portrayed Thomas and Gordon as actual best friends. I know that this particular era of the show was notorious for making the characters into happy, sappy, NPCs with flat personalities; but for all of its glaring faults, it gets Thomas and Gordon's relationship just so right. Allow me to explain.

Following the events of Down the Mine, the two engines form a solid alliance. The very pinnacle of this was when the late Queen Elizabeth visited Sodor for the first time since her coronation. But since then, it kinda faded into obscurity after a while. However, the Nitrogen Era seemed to encapsulate Thomas and Gordon's friendship in a truly meaningful way. I think it's safe to say that these two are actual best friends. Hell, they're practically mirror reflections of each other: pompous, egotistical, proud of their jobs, and are generally stuck-up when they want to be. I kinda picture Thomas and Gordon as a father-son duo. The moments featured in this video are living proof of that. They sadly phase it out during the Brenner-sance period and they go back to their original S1 traits. But I will say, this era right here inadvertently kept their friendship consistent with canon. For that, I humbly applaud it.
