If There Is One Thing I Am Enjoying More Than Agent Stone’s Salt Over Knuckles; It’s The Art Community’s Response To Agent Stone’s Salt
The Adoption isn’t going as smoothly as Ivo had hoped. XDD;
Nitter is dead, other instances are sure to follow
So, for anyone who doesn't know, Nitter is/was was an alternative way to view Twitter anonymously and without an account. It was also a way to bypass the lockout bs for non-users.
Now, regardless of how I've always felt about Twitter, I feel anybody should be able to access info and content from a site based mainly in user-generated content (actually, I'm for freedom of information in general, but one thing at a time). It make no sense not to be able to and may even encourage someone to become a user at some point (I know I'm not just going to sign up for a random site if I don't at least have a basic idea about the content).
Either way, I hope* to get a list out of still functional instances before the hammer drops on all of them.
Also, I can't really tell anyone what to do on this matter, but I recommend that if you're someone who mainly uses Twitter to promote your work that you start branching out elsewhere as only people with accounts are gonna be able to see your stuff.
To elaborate, this means less eyes on your work and less chance to grow your audience further. Not only that, but if the only way to contact you it through one site (especially one they can't view), someone liking your work may not be enough to get them to sign up just to contact/commission you.
Please spread this around, and not even just on here, but on Twitter itself too, if possible. I'd do it myself but I don't have/want an account and have my reasons for it.
*I say 'hope' because I know my track record sucks sometimes on completing tasks.
nitter died… sobbing
When I tried to visit the official Twitter of a franchise via the nitter.net frontend, it said the user wasn't found, but if I go there normally the account seems to be just fine. Weird. Maybe something's up with Nitter.
There are so-called “alternative frontends“ for Youtube (Invidious) and Twitter (Nitter) so one can at one hand use these sites while giving less data, but on the other hand one also loads less clutter if one doesn’t have an account there.
Unfortunately there is still no such “alternative frontend” for Twitch. I’d really like that, because Twitch’s loading times are quite annoying when you don’t want to use the chat.
Me decías que nunca te dejará y me dejaste. Jaja
