Lute is "freshly discharged military personnel" she and Vaggie are both regular humans trying to "keep Charlie out of D.H.O.R.K.s grasp " What about eveyone else? HH chars? HB chars? Charlie is going to be more or less the same, She's still princess of Hell and largely the only magical element of the story. Its funnier if Charlie remains nonhuman in a human au. Anyways, in prep for her hotel plans, she decided to spend a few years in the living world to better understand humans and why they sin.
Vaggie, Lute, and Adam are all going to be ex military.
Vaggie discharged several years ago after an incident left her with one eyes. the details of his incident I'll keep to myself but its the reason why her and Lute are distant though they don't hate each other. Vaggie has spent her time hopping jobs and but ultimately gets hired as a maid for a strange rich lady that just moved into town.
Lute stayed in longer until she met her own run of bad luck on deployment and got shipped back stateside down an arm and lacking options (I personally know the hell that is dealing with the VA for disability claims) so she needs a job and a place to stay quick and will ultimately be forced to turn to Vaggie for help.
Adam was their captain once upon a time but he's recently retired. after what I'm going to be forced to do in SII I want to write douchy but nice Adam again, so he's a divorced dad who's just finally starting to work things out to reconnect with his Ex-wife Eve and his kids.
Most of the HH characters are probably going to lead lives vaguely similar to their formerly human lives. Husk is the local bartender and washed up magician, Vox is a TV host, Alastor has a radio show and part time serial killer hobby, etc etc. probably will have to dilute the more serious examples such as maybe not having Carmilla be a international weapons dealer that just happens to operate out of this town, etc.
The HB characters tho... I did consider changing them into humans... but it would be funnier if they were all still demons. the presence of Charlie in this setting does confirm that Hell and magic are real, so why not have the characters from Hell still be hellborn lol
