An End to a New Day Sandy Hook, NJ These are the first photographs I’ve taken from Sandy Hook in well over half a year. It felt great to be back out there. Like I was officially home. A few black-crowned night herons emerged from their day time roosts. A spectacular cloud of offshore fog snaked along the shoreline.

18 Days... it has been since Hurricane Sandy left her mark on the state of New Jersey. And she didn't leave just a comma or a dash or an asterisk... She left a big, fat EXCLAMATION POINT!! I rode through a few towns in northern Monmouth County and there is still a lot of clean up to be done.... But we're New JERSEY! We'll get it done because we're Jersey Strong... and when we've climbed out from under this mess, we'll be the NEW Jersey!!

When I was editing these photos, I knew I didn't want them to represent destruction and/or sadness. I wanted them to be brighter images of better days ahead. So, here's the link to the rest of what I found after 18 Days ... Sandy flipped her coin and guess what?? WE WIN!!
