Yaz is acting like she's the only one who's been right in this fandom. Sorry but most of us uses our brains and common sense. It's also laughable how she wants to set an image for herself as a victim, maybe she lacks attention growing up.
"I am entitled to have my own opinion on these characters and books BUT you are all wrong and my opinion is the only thing that is right and matters. No one is allowed to challenge me or disagree with me. Cope!" that's what egocentrism sounds like, btw. It's always narrow-minded and dismissive.
You're free to interpret acotar however you like but the moment you start dismissing established canon and refusing to engage with actual textual evidence, you're no longer analyzing but projecting. And I'm sure you mistake that projection for insight.
A smart person stays open to different perspective, yes they can still stand with what they believe, but they won't easily dismiss another people's take because smart people knows how to accept reality/canon.
At least, if you're going to argue about a character then you should provide sufficient text from the books that will back your statement up. If you're going to talk about a character then based it on what the author wrote. But if your argument relies solely on personal interpretation while ignoring clear textual evidence and refuse to accept people who do provide evidence then that's a personal bias issue. You're cherry picking convenient lines while conveniently ignoring the rest of the narrative that contradicts you. (btw, this is how GA started)
The problem with them is selective reading. They only focuses on generic texts that will support their claims but ignore the broader context or the rest of important details... and it results to confirmation bias.
Plus, having a public spiraling every now and then is something you shouldn't be proud of. But well, it's easy to feel validated when she's inside her biggest echo chamber. Elriels aren't the villain you think we are in your life, but your own mindset.
