Soundwave doesn’t know if it’s his favorite thing, but he does like that he can seemingly make M8-TE laugh by flashing a smiley over his screen. He doesn’t really understand why the drone finds those funny, but it’s a simple way to ease any situation. Also, with his own somewhat limited social skills, he does count it as a victory when he can make others laugh.
