Baekhyun takes another step forward. The floorboards beneath his feet are wooden, dusty. The kind you know will creak when you step on them. Not for Baekhyun, though. He’s highly trained and deadly dangerous. Awash with confidence, enticing to women and - 

Creak. 

Baekhyun winces, easing his foot backwards but it’s too late. The thing he’s been stalking turns, its long, flat ears snapping to attention behind him. Baekhyun wrinkles his nose at the sight of him, all loose jowls and drooping eyes. Deceptively soft, if you don’t notice the rows of razor-sharp teeth hidden within it’s flesh. 

The creature lets out a hiss, narrowing it’s eyes in the newcomer’s direction. “Who arrrrrrre you?”

Drawing himself taller, Baekhyun holds out his hand. “Ah, right.” Keeping his eyes trained on the thing, he fishes around in his back pocket. “Lucifer Rhodes,” Baekhyun announces, flipping open the laminated card. 

The demon frowns, reading the license and Baekhyun turns it around to face him. “Oh, hang on! Sorry,” he grins, pushing a hand through his hair. “Polly Green. Huh. Where’d I pick this one up?”

The thing seems unamused. “GET OUT, NOW.”

Baekhyun shrugs. “I don’t think so,” he grins. “I quite like it here.” 

When the thing roars, Baekhyun decides that’s enough talking for one day and flips open his knife. Not a normal knife, but one of pure gold that sparkles in the sun.

The thing’s eyes widen. “What arrrrrre you?” it asks, a note of fear entering it’s voice.

The corner of Baekhyun’s mouth lifts and he lowers his brow. “The last thing you’ll ever see, shedim.”
