Rewatching Merlin, and every episode is like

Gaius, with old cryptic books none of them ever read before: we gonna find out TONIGHT AND BY TONIGHT BECAUSE IF IT IS LATER THAN THAT WE WILL DIE.

And it terrifyingly reminded me of my old job, which had me, a new employee who was freshly graduated, just got there for two weeks, had practically zero knowledge of the industry, literally got a job because they needed someone who was (barely) a bilingual, definitely not qualified, work on this critical project, which could cause them serious reputation if I fucked up, since the client was BIG. (and the works were always URGENT)

Five team members quit. The turnover rate was insane. There is no training because the company motto is ‘on the job dying training’. So, the project that was supposed to have tons of people working on ended up being mainly carried out by TWO people. My manager was as clueless as me because she got the job like 2 months before me.

So, most of the time, it is just us, pulling all nighter, digging through old documents and trying to figure out wtf to do and hoping that we would wing it.

A year later, I quit due to serious health issues (I almost DIED from overwork), the CEO asked why I am denying ‘my potential to become great on this career path’. It took everything in me not to go feral and scream and set the office on fire right then.

So the past couple days have been blah after my dental appointment. He gave me some strong pain meds and I basically slept off and on for the past two days. I’m actually starting to feel like myself again, finally, and I can say that the salt water rinse is totally gross. I’m sore and a bit bruised, but I’m not in as much pain as I thought I would be. Chewing is still a bit of a chore and I suspect it will be until the swelling completely goes down. *Sigh* At least the hubby doesn’t have overtime this week so we both can have a good rest and my face can calm down so I can work properly.
