don't like complaining about my job since I do still enjoy it but man publishing in graphic novels is just completely fucked right now
#and thats WITH an agent#GNs are straight up treated as nothing but screenplays#for potential television#so you have to not only pitch based on what publishing houses want#but also netflix and hulu and disney and bro#they all want second screen work#they want reboots#they want easy listening#when you say “man everything is the same now”#trust me from inside its way way worse#and it's so demoralizing#everything is demographics#pigeon holes#no risk#label everything#summarize in a sentence#set it in a school#characters must be teenagers#nothing too scary#nothing too real#and man as a creative#it feels like the world is caving in#delete later#tess talks
