I'm going to blow some people's minds with this.

Just because people are very close best friends, does not make them suddenly be siblings.

I know you all are probably thinking 'obviously.' It's just that I saw some comic panels that are of Batman and Superman where they think of each other as the closest that either will come to a brother. Meanwhile, I don't think that's their dynamic at all. I'm not just saying this because I do like them as a romantic pair (though, who knows, maybe this brother comment was a chance for the writers to go "no homo"). The thing is I also adore them as best friends, their relationship is clearly so special, and they understand each other in a way that's unique. And I don't think calling them brothers makes them closer.

Maybe a better example would be a pair I don't ship at all. Okay, then Alex and Harper from Wizards of Waverly Place. It was a sweet moment when Alex called Harper her 'sister' and it didn't annoy me. But that's just not how I see their relationship. Obviously if you see them as sisters, that's fine. I'm just saying they don't have to be sisters to be close.

Obviously, sometimes, the relationship between two best friends is a sibling dynamic. Charlie from Supernatural is totally Dean's little sister in my opinion. But I'm not about to call Benny his brother just because they're also best friends, y'know? (Benny gets away with calling people brother because that's just how he speaks.)

It's not like it never works, where someone calls their best friend their sibling even though that's not the dynamic. Dean calls Cas his brother, and while it's honestly kinda second-hand embarassing, I once saw an interesting post on how the closest relationship Dean has ever had is with his brother Sam. He doesn't have close ties on such a deep level outside of that relationship for most of his life. So the best way he can express those close ties, or how much a person means to him is by comparing it to brotherhood.

This is such a random and unimportant thing to rant about. And maybe it's just me being annoyed that people keep referring to my ships as 'brothers.' Idk... As always, if you have different opinions feel free to drop them in the comments. There's always a side I haven't considered, and I try to keep an open mind about things.

I’m not saying everything is going to be fixed, I’m saying this (the proud boys, trumpers disrupting democracy, etc..) needs to end and the best possible way for anyone to do that unfortunately is to play the game of politics and at this point in history Joe Biden is poised for that. He is a well known moderate who has the respect of old party politicians from both sides of the aisle. Think LBJ, what we need is someone who can unite the government parties in order to create a more bipartisan environment. If there continues to be contention within the parties there continues to be contention within the people.

Biden was not my first choice but is he better than Trump? Yes, always. Could Bernie do what needs to be done? Unfortunately no. Based on the political world we live in right now, in 2021, I don’t honestly believe anyone else could be a democratic president. It’s an unfortunate truth. I would love a socialist President more than anything in the world but that’s a long long way from being a reality. This is not ‘choose the person who checks all your boxes’ it’s choosing one person to represent an entire country, millions of people with different views, backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.
