i really enjoyed the character dynamics even if the script was a bit concerned that I would perhaps be too stupid to understand it but that's not a failing specific to this movie in particular so that's not even an actual criticism!
Really enjoyed the acting (obviously!) but also the set design and the physicality of the scenes. I dont know that ive ever payed that much attention to walls in a movie before. It felt silly but still somehow held together and respected where the characters come from and how they'd react. Also Clark mental breakdown handled with surprising amount of grace and kindness.
also they licensed a track from everywhere at the end of time huh!!!!!!! that was fun. it was all so much fun. i expected nothing and i got a lot from it.

my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor
just saw backrooms finally can we get a hell yeah for chiwetel ejiofor in those SHORTS
so this might be the funniest text i've ever gotten about my partner
when i was a kid my Getting To Sleep technique was visualizing a child-sized shriveled up mummy with big piercing eyes that would stand silhouetted in the doorway & stare at me & probably attack if i so much as opened my eyes after getting into bed & this technique caused me to develop a lifelong nighttime-induced paranoia & it still takes me 2 hours to fall asleep. so i wouldnt recommend that

…its been said before, but it bears repeating: i feel like a lot of people could stand to remember that fortress europe + ICE + border restrictions and policing around the world must be contextualised within an ongoing and severely worsening climate/biodiversity loss crisis that is actively making huge swathes of the third world uninhabitable viz. both rising temperatures and unproductive land and displacement and political crises/conflict over depleting resources, and that policies re. immigration and refugees now are both a response to those first waves of immigration and a testing ground for the er future. see also: climate chaos is coming - and the pinkertons are ready. it is a specific response to a crisis that is contiguous with a desire to continue expanding oil and coal and "dirty" energy capacity in the us AND with europe's continued expansion of both carbon fuel and green fuel simultaneously, all in the name of "national security" and "economic growth", in which security and growth of only particular forms and areas of the world are prioritised. it is a specific response to a crisis that has marked swathes of the world out as expendable both in terms of resource and people & which refuses any form of responsibility for "externalised costs". you may think yourself untouched, but it will affect you and sooner than you think.
