I think that the line in FE fates about Elise acting her age being worded so weirdly is meant to make fun of the fact that I guess she is an adult but acts and looks so young and child like

A better way they could have worded that would be like "Elise, you need to start acting your age. You are almost an adult." (Or something that would be more in character) I can't believe this localization sometimes.

Exactly! it’s like their trying to wink or  mention of the fact that they aged Elise up, and they end up coming off so sophomoric! Even 

It’s not even a “Leo supposed to sound awkward and superfluous” deal, because he’s normally composed and elegant, even in the NoA translation! Who let such a poor line pass?

How hard was it to write “When are you going to act your age?” This really is 4Kids’ styled beating-around-the-bush writing.
