noah couldn’t remember where everyone else had gone. they had all come up here as a group, celebrating his moving into the apartment building whose roof they had been using for a while now. grey even came, though he was a little bit bitter still about noah breaking his promise to live together until they were thirty. slowly everyone left the rooftop, heading home or two other parties. somehow he had stayed up far longer than he should have, but talking to juno, and the chance to see a sunrise for the first time in years were too enticing for him to stumble home, or even to the little bed only a few feet from him. they sat side by side, watching the run raise over the horizon, dipping between buildings slowly, covering everything in light. it felt magical. and noah rarely believed in magic. he looked down at juno, who was curled up beside him, enjoying the sun as it warmed them both up, her lashes resting against pink cheeks. god, she was perfection. perhaps it was the alcohol (which he hadn’t had a sip of in at least five hours. more likely it was that tricky magic that he had noticed covered the rooftop. either way, he leaned down, pressing his lips gently to juno’s, something exploding in his chest as he took a midmorning risk. it wasn’t a long kiss, he didn’t want to push his luck. he waited to see if she opened her eyes, smirking at her before turning to watch the sun once more.
