Ok so on the Noah theory, one of the first things I saw after finishing Evolution was Michelle's post for Noah's birthday, michellehodkin/post/70744488438/happy-birthday-noah. Since she shared it for his birthday, I think it has to do with him, and on first read it made me think we were hearing from his POV and he was in the morgue and not really dead, but had woken up there. Just a theory. I also think if Noah was going to stay dead for real, he would have died in the last book.

She placed the syringes on a metal table by the gurney. A series of strange looking cabinets were behind her—it took me a few seconds to realize what they were, and where I was.

The room was a morgue.

I really like this idea. and you're right, with the timing it would make sense if it were from Noahs' POV. maybe Kells and co thought he died but his body just had to shut down temporarily to fully heal himself.

do you think noah really died

I don't think he died at the end of Evolution. I think he's too useful to Kells for her to kill him. Why would Kells be gathering all of these people with powers together just to kill one of them? his power is pretty unique among them too. plus, Kells could use him as leverage to get Mara to cooperate.

I think this is the argument that makes me most worried that he's dead though, but I'm still not convinced. when Michelle said she resolved Noah, I think she just meant she went further in his storyline than she original planned on in Evolution. I don't think it necessarily means Noah's entire resolution is death.

we'll find out for sure though in only 33 more days!

I think that there might be split pov's too. ' I feel something, I do it.I want something, I take it.' That sounds extremely like something Noah would say and if i recall correctly he said something similar in the previous books.

in chapter 26 of Unbecoming, Noah says

"There’s nothing I want. There’s nothing I can’t do."

Retribution could totally be split POV. maybe Michelle was having a hard time writing it from just Mara’s POV so she rewrote it with Noah’s POV and that’s why it’s taken extra time (didn’t something like that happen with Allegiant?). maybe this is a sign of character development for Noah. maybe Kells is keeping him somewhere and this is line shows his determination to get out and find Mara. maybe the thing he wants is to be reunited with Mara and the thing he feels is his power

This theory isn't about plot, but I've had an ongoing theory for some time that Retribution is going to be split between the POVs of Mara and Noah. Obviously this is something Michelle can't tell us now, because that would mean that Noah is alive, but I think that when (not even considering if) Noah turns out alive, he and Mara aren't going to be together right away, she may not even find out for a while. Also, the first two books had two different perspectives, Before and After, so it could be possible
