hi gamers here are the beta designs for the rosquad
The Immortals AU Rogang Pt. 2: Noah, TAI, Stoneyguy, Donovin
finally figured it out bro. we are so back. terms you should know for this post:
Doll: with many societies and universes coming to view robots as actual people, those who still seek their servitude have turned to ancient methods that have less regulations. the doll is one such method. it could be considered human, since it actually has the consciousness/life of humans who have been conditioned into rigid obedience. basically they're slaves. and now they're slaves forever because they can just be repaired whenever they break, unless someone releases the human consciousness inside
Magic: the manipulation and transmutation of life. you can create life by taking it from something else. life can be given back, to a certain extent. each living thing has a limit on the amount of life it can have. dead organisms' capacity to take in life decreases as the body decomposes
Vital Signs: an organization that that specializes in magic-related, paranormal business at their clients' request. stuff like stopping this person from getting revived over and over again or something. price increases with the danger of the task
Noah Jammo
a human immortal. specifically, he's an anthropomorphic emperor tamarin. he's also our first magic user! he can create and control temporary "specters"(basicaly just creatures). they're usually just hollow shells whose shape he can manipulate, but he can also create an entire organism if he wants to.
he and TAI are members of vital signs. they goof off a lot on jobs but still manage to get things done. they're the type of people who are perfectly capable on their own but devolve into insanity the moment they're put in the same room together. noah is the more silly of the two, often opting to do a little trolling during solo quests, even if it ends up backfiring on him. little may be an understatement. he is always trolling. do not let this man near a waffle maker
noah has fibromyalgia and uses a wheelchair and cane as mobility aids. he has many wheel covers that he designed himself. he also makes sure that solo jobs involve stuff he can take care of without straining himself too much, ie puzzle-solving or negotiation rather than combat. if he does have to fight, he'll usually take long range shots or do an ambush. also dude probably has a backup wheelchair in case the one he’s currently using gets blown up or something. i don't have fibromyalgia so if anyone does or has a similar condition, please correct me if something sounds wrong
TAI
a doll. he has a traffic cone for a head, and most of his once-porcelain body has been replaced with plastic. wearing object heads is a sign of rebellion against the doll slave system, as dolls are often prized for their immaculate beauty.
with noah and the rest of the rogang, TAI is very loud and rambunctious, often overreacting and kinda making a fool of himself for everyone's enjoyment(including his own). he doesn't lose that aspect of his personality when he's alone, but he gets more calm and is actually one of the stealthiest rogurers. makes sense cause he does NOT want to go through the trouble of having to piece himself back together if something happens
not really the type of guy to comfort people, unless it's noah. they're just besties like that. don't ask him about himself because he might punch your skull out of your face
Stoney Guy
a human immortal, specifically some kind of monkey that i haven't decided on yet. stoney is one of the greatest engineers of the century, managing to invent the first portable teleporter. now, instead of going to portal docks, you can just press a button, and the portable teleporter will do create a portal right where you stand! people who profit off of portal docks(they're EXPENSIVE AS HELL) don't like him very much. good for them that he's still developing it
stoney has a reputation for being eccentric, as he has a flair for unconventional dramatics and doesn't seem to take even his biggest projects too seriously. partly true but he is also the most giggly when he's stressed out of his mind. he switches between inventions often as he relentlessly chases stardom
Donovin Prez
so remember how this is called the immortals au? turns out i lied, whoops. donovin is the only regular mortal(key word regular, which is why ronin doesn't count here) in the group and he tries not to let it bother him too much. i mean, it's not THAT big of a deal that his mentor doesn't take his own passions seriously so why would he take donovin's existence seriously either, you know? this'll probably just be a huge blip in stoney's life. oh yeah. he's also stoney's secret apprentice
it's kinda funny how all the human immortals suddenly forget how to exist once they talk to him. how much are mortals supposed to eat again? to sleep? how hard can i playfully slap you on the back without breaking your spine? wait, mortals aren't that fragile, are they? the only one who still remembers is noah and that's just because his health would take a nosedive if he didn't, but even he's a bit too rough sometimes
they don't really know where donovin came from. he insists that they refrain from asking. not talking about your past is becoming a recurring theme here, isn't it?
will probably write wasabi, yin, quinn, turkish, and replyin, and oh my gourd i do not know these people
on the opposite of Life (rogurt au)
lots of people think the opposite of Life is Death. Death, the absence of Life; Death, the force that the so-called necromancers wield; Death, that which immortals cannot be touched by.
this is false.
Life and death are the same--to command Life is to command death. Noah, who creates constructs using the Life around him, rendering those he siphons from to death, is not so different from Wasabi, who forces Life back into bodies of death that haven't felt its touch in centuries.
no, Life and death are not opposites. not even immortals can escape death's embrace. yes, they expire eventually, just like the mortals do. the constant universe-hopping and reckless behavior that immortality breeds exposes them to their one weakness, the true opposite of Life: the Void. a perpetually shifting state, nothing at all yet everything at once. an infinitely finite, ever expanding plane of existence. the antithesis of Life and death's binary world.
it swallows you, turning your body into itself as it stretches across your skin. be too careless around the Void, and you will take your shirt off to a razor black hole in your chest. not a beautiful black like the night sky with clouds floating by, not a peaceful black like the dimness of your friends' homes that lulls you to sleep. nothing black, like the black that pools in your eyes when you first wake up, not registering anything. reach inside. you can fit your whole arm in there. there’s something in the sudden cavern that has made its home in your chest, but you can feel it’s not any of you.
Rizz tells you that living with Void is a constant battle, a forever fight to rally your Life against it just to prolong yourself for a few more seconds. just enough for one more moment of joy.
as you watch it widen like a black mold over your heart, you realize that you are doomed. you need to make it a few more seconds. just a few more seconds. just enough to say goodbye.
