Oi Marble! I think this may have been asked before, but if this was in a modern setting what music do you think the bloodborne cast would listen to?

It definitely was asked before, but it was probably so long ago that my opinions have changed since then or I've completely forgotten!

The Music Tastes of Bloodborne Characters

Adeline - Shockingly, likes black and death metal. You'd think she'd like some cottagecore cutesy music or something. The genre's contents just speak to her lol. And yes, she headbangs! She and Brador happily share a playlist. Slipped in her hardcore taste is smooth jazz and genuinely calming music. She also really likes opera performances.

Adella - This woman is a K-Pop fan and a Swiftie and you cannot change my mind. The Tortured Poets Department had her screaming and crying.

Alfred - He screams musical theater fan/kid to me. The first note of Alexander Hamilton will have him snapping his fingers and singing the whole damn musical from start to finish. He also likes pop music in general.

Arianna - Does not realize she's in a war with Adella for liking Sabrina Carpenter and Chapelle Roan over Taylor Swift.

Bloody Crow of Cainhust - BUUURNING ON JUST LIKE THE MAAATCH YOU STRIKE TO INCINERAAATE THE LIVES OF EVERYOOONE YOU KNOOOW AND WHAT'S THE WORST YOOOU TAKE FROM EVERY HEART YOOOU BREEEAAK AND LIKE THE BLAAADE YOOOU STAAAIN WELL I'VE BEEN HOOOLDING OOOON TONIIIIIGHT-- (he also likes hip-hop/rap in general)

Brador - Primarily listens to nu-metal and related genres. #1 Rob Zombie fan. Also listens to Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park, stuff like that. And sprinkled in there in his hardcore taste is... *Squints* Lady Gaga and Katy Perry?? And the entirety Guilty Gear's vocal tracks??? Whatever he's listening to, he's yelling along.

Djura - Punk rock, hard rock, indie rock, he just loves rock in general, so long as they've got energy to them. Tends to gravitate towards stuff before or around the 90's. The Black Keys, Guns N' Roses, and Led Zeppelin are all bands he likes. Though, he will listen to 'newer' stuff (in his old POV anyway lol) like Green Day and Franz Ferdinand.

Eileen - She gravitates towards music with great emotion and soul, and while she doesn't have a favorite genre, that very specific era of 80's love songs speak to her. She loves the songs Lady in Red, Careless Whisper, Open Arms, and anything by Whitney Houston. Although... She'll listen to Bloody Crow's and Lady Maria's emo stuff willingly lol. Soul, jazz, and related genres are stuff she also enjoys greatly.

Gehrman - He listens to songs so old/niche that it makes even the most pretentious music nerds go, "Oh shit, I don't know that band, how dare I call myself a music nerd" lol

Lady Maria - WHAT'S THE WORST THAT I COULD SAAAAY THINGS ARE BETTER IF I STAAAYED SO LONG AND GOODNIGHT SO LOOONG AND GOODNIIIGHT-- (she also likes Paramore and Fall Out Boy. And Billie Eilish sprinkled in there)

Laurence - Coldplay and Imagine Dragons. Had a Panic! At the Disco phase as a teenager, and playing something from Vices and Virtues/A Fever you Can't Sweat Out will have him sweating as he fights the urge to sing.

Ludwig - He likes classical music the most. He particularly likes Chopin and Beethoven, and yes, it's because of Nocturne op.9 no.2 and Moonlight Sonata. He will passively listen to whatever's on the radio without complaint, though. Though, his favorite of the "contemporary music" as he calls it is Adele.

Micolash - He listens primarily to videogame OST and other electronic songs. Yes, he loves Toby Fox. And yes, he also listens to Lemon Demon and Jack Stauber. And vocaloid, he LOVES vocaloid. Hit 'em with that Mico Mico BEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAM alsjdjksks he also listens to the most obnoxious, overstimulating techno music.

Simon - He's always struck me as a Modest Mouse and Arctic Monkeys fan type of guy. Stuff he can listen to while staring out the train window on a rainy day and watch the landscape roll by as he ponders. He also likes Poor Man's Poison. He also occasionally listens to video game and movie OST.

Valtr - He likes heavy metal, like Megadeth and Metallica. Vibes to it rather than headbangs. Somehow the exact opposite of Brador when it comes to listening to metal. He's just sitting there, brooding, as James Hetfield's beautiful yea-hehs wash over his ears. It seems like he doesn't enjoy listening to music, but he does. Absolutely despises pop music.

Yamamura - Of course he sticks to what he knows, like J-Rock, and has been expanding his tastes. However, he's picked up Valtr's habit of sitting there and brooding while listening to music, but he's enjoying it! His tastes other than that are kinda nerdy, he also likes videogame OST and the like. Though, he gravitates towards more vocal tracks, like Persona's.

ASSUMING that the coffin acknowledges how you personally identify (it fucking better lol), she'd be very upset about turning into a man. All of those years on estrogen and brain fluid, for what??? She'd jump right back in.

Alfred

I'm not gonna lie. He's always given me male podcaster vibes lol. He'd be horrified at being a woman and jump back in immediately.

Brador

I'm not gonna lie x2. He's gonna let someone smash with his newfound vaginal canal. He's really curious.

He'd probably play with his tits all day. Actually, he does a lot of things with his tits already. But what else can he do with these new jiggly D cups...?

He'd want to change back after a while though, he loves his dick as much as he loves killing people, which is a lot.

Like Adeline, he's jumping straight back into the coffin. All of those years on testosterone and beast blood pellets, for what??? He kicks the coffin before jumping back in lol

Although, turning into a woman for a brief moment, he feels his head and realizes his hairline is no longer receding. However, he doesn't consider for a second to stay a woman to get rid of his male pattern baldness.

Jumps out of the coffin like a scared cat the millisecond she realizes she's turned into a man. She's absolutely disgusted. Gets right back in after berating the coffin for not putting a sign up saying what it does.

Although I do headcanon her as nb genderfluid, would she even turn into a man? Would she turn gendersolid? Gendergas? Alsjhdhdjsja

Gascoigne

The first thing he does upon the genderswap is run up to Viola and go, "Look! I'm a lady now!" She actually claps for him and compliments how pretty he is lol. She is bisexual, this is a win for her.

But once Gascoigne realizes he can no longer make dad jokes in this form.................

Iosefka/Fauxsefka

They've got a whole medical clinic of tools to poke themselves with upon the gender swap. Science time. Otherwise they're neutral about the gender swap.

Fauxsefka specifically will try putting other things in the coffin, including the aliens. And then Iosefka, who she just turned into an alien.

Lady Maria

I am a butch Lady Maria believer, and of the belief that a genderbent version of her looks almost exactly the same. She's not going to notice a difference when she steps out of the coffin until she looks in her pants lol

Even then, she's gonna stay as a man as a while. She might even like it. She already entertains he/him too. This coffin trip leads to some deep introspection on his part.

Wants to change back into a man immediately... specifically because he knows the society he built that exploits and mistreats women and other minorities will treat him very differently.

...At least he's aware of what he's done...? He acknowledges, however, that he doesn't look that much different as a woman, just a bit prettier.

Neutral on this until he looks in the mirror and sees how pretty he is. Might actually go frolic in a field as a woman lol

Honestly, that might be another egg cracked, but she's not gonna realize why she's suddenly happier because she's too busy thinking about the Healing Church and her Guiding Moonlight.

He believes by rapidly going in and out of a coffin, he can reach a true gender equilibrium and ascend the known concept of gender. Simply infinite gender beyond human comprehension. He's already genderfluid, how far can he go?!?

He'd probably try to get pregnant as a woman for science too. Specifically with a Great One baby. He's definitely the only person on this list who'd try that.

Genuinely very confused as to why a coffin would change someone's gender. He wants to investigate it, where did it come from, who built it, and for what purpose? As someone with a great interest in archaeology, he has to know!

As for being a woman, it makes no difference to him. He notes that the coffin gave him small tits, though. He's sorta grateful, because any bigger than A cups would make his skinny little back hurt.

Still, Brador taunts Simon for having smaller tits lol

Changing into a woman will never stop his mission of crushing all vermin. Completely neutral on the gender swap. He doesn't do anything different as a woman, doesn't even try to experiment with the new body. Literally. Does not care.

While I know that this wouldn't make much sense, it would still be really funny to hear Djura yell at hunters going into old yharnam in finnish. Yes, I am thinking of that video of a guy yelling at a bear, how could you tell?

Considering my headcanon that Old Yharnam was very diverse and had many immigrants, it's plausible that Djura knows a few phrases of all sorts of languages. (I will actually be touching on this in the next chapter of my fic, actually)

Maybe he even cycles between languages when yelling at hunters to get the fuck out, in hopes of landing on a language they'll understand!

It would be very cool! But like you said, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense, plus Brador would be useless because he'd have a mental breakdown upon being summoned because he has to kill Laurence again lol.
