The 4th of July this year is CANCELED!!!! ❌🙅‍♀️🚫 Yes, I am posting two 4th of July readings today, but those are more so to pick up on the general collective energy today. It is intended to give us insight and perspective through the chaos we're experiencing while existing in the bad place. But personally, I am NOT celebrating the 4th of July. For one, in case you didn't know, a mass shooting occurred today in Highland Park. This is only five miles away from my mom's place, that I'm currently at. 4th of July festivities and fireworks have been canceled indefinitely. Thankfully we are safe here, but this destruction and loss is not a time for celebration. Additionally Roe vs Wade was recently overturned and the Supreme Court is not just stopping there. Women's rights have been stripped away and soon more people will likely see their rights removed as well in coming days, weeks, and months thanks to the Supreme Court's agenda. I don't see how we can celebrate Independence Day during a time our independence has been stripped from us. I don't see how we can celebrate being the UNITED States of America in a DIVIDED condition. These days I do not resonate the lyrics from "God Bless the USA" - I'm proud to be an American. No, I'm EMBARRASSED to be an American lately and if I could leave this country, I would! We need to talk less, organize more, plan, and take action. Enough is enough. Better days HAVE to be ahead.
