I got this general idea from a gentleman on @notes. So, I thought I’d put something together for myself. I’m going to be 61 this year and getting older DOES bring its own challenges. Not to mention that being labeled “Boomer” is not the insult some think it is. I’m not as quick to think of a word that’s “on the tip of my tongue”. I’m not as fast, in general, as I used to be. And my memory, though far from being senile, isn’t as good as it used to be, I’m ageing. But you know what I’m not? Stupid. My beliefs, apparently are being considered “radical”, “leftist” and even “socialist”. And, you know what? Put me in that category for these:

I don’t want a dictator, a man who ADMITTED that is what he will be on the 1st day. I don't want a king (we actually fought a war about that). I want ALL Americans to be free. ALL Americans, to have enough to eat, a roof over their heads, love WHOEVER they want without hate and discrimination. I want ALL Americans to have freedom OF and FROM religion. I believe, no, I KNOW, that abortion IS health care. I KNOW trans healthcare IS healthcare. I believe in separation of church and state. I believe in America and will vote with my conscience and with love for my country.

If this makes me lose friends, I’m sorry. I don’t make friends with people I don’t care about on some level and I WILL miss you.

Right to Life

Has anyone thought of bringing up the fact that by denying someone who could die if they do not receive that abortion, about the fact that they would be denied a part of the bill of rights. Specifically the right to life. If this abortion would infringe on the fact that they would die without it and are being denied it because of other laws. The bill of rights trumps those laws technically and that person is being denied their right to life.

2023 was the first full-year without the protections of Roe. The effects have been devastating, and the attacks on reproductive rights have not stopped.

Voters have met each challenge and made their voices heard. Abortion access is undefeated at the ballot box. Abortion access is directly impacted by your vote, and it’s on the ballot again this year.

I could write a whole essay on the current fuckery. Everything is regressing versus moving forward. People thought Roe v Wade was untouchable, if they overturned that what else do you think they’ll overturn?

Also, since we are regressing. You’re not banning abortions, only banning safe ones. . . Extra side note, wording is important- abortion for all people that possess a uterus. Thank you💕
