With Pride month around the corner, here’s your reminder that Stonewall was a riot against police brutality after the violent raid of a gay bar. That is why people in the community have issues with a police presence there. . . . . #pride #pridemonth #pride🌈 #nocopsatpride #stonewall #policebrutality #policebrutalityawareness #gaypride #lgbt #lgbtq🌈 #lgbtqia #lgbtqiaplus #menlovingmen https://www.instagram.com/p/CPWI1ZOrUdR/?utm_medium=tumblr

A group of protesters scuffled with police and blocked an intersection of San Francisco’s Market Street Sunday, bringing the annual San Francisco Pride Parade to a halt for more than an hour.
The group reportedly was taking the action to protest the corporate involvement in the parade which stirred up controversy in the weeks leading up to the event. Additionally, the group also said the disruption was being staged to protest police brutality in America. Demonstrators handed out a letter calling for the march to exclude police, saying they didn’t agree with inviting officers to mark the anniversary of a clash with authorities.
Reminder that if your local Pride has cops coming and going, it's not Pride.
This is my first #Pride month where I’m fully out. Not hiding. Not stealth. The first time I get to be a proud trans woman in the month where we celebrate how far we came and how far we still have to go. (I say that because some ignorant white twink on TikTok thinks it’s just a party and we should let the police come, which while we’re at it: #nocopsatpride ) I take pride in me saying I’m #transgender with my whole chest. I take pride being a #transwoman . I take pride in being able to write my story and gods willing publish it to help other trans and gender expansive folx. And for the first time in 30+ years I love this body of mine. Im proud of these boobs, this skin, these eyes, and the hair y’all love. I know we have a lot of work to do within our own community and beyond it. But this month reminds me how beautiful my community is. And how proud I am to be a part of it. #transisbeautiful #girlslikeus https://www.instagram.com/p/CPk7avdj7_3/?utm_medium=tumblr
