i hope if ryuji is still alive in the canon timeline, he still loses his arm. yeah it's possible he'll still get the insane prosthetic he has in dead souls because the daidoji gadgets put that in the range of possibility. However. i think swords are so much cooler than guns, i'd like to see him refine his sword skills (also i like baiken from guilty gear + the silhouette of his outfit w/ the coat suits that whole single-armed swordsman trope). i feel like his sword is underutilized in 2, for how iconic a part of his design it is. like why does the flop with the bad haircut lusting after yayoi dojima have a better sword boss fight than ryuji.....

he'd definitely still fight barehanded too. a lot of martial arts can be fought with a single arm, and i think it would be a nice character development moment for him to actually study martial arts, as opposed to relying mainly on his size/strength (which is what he seems to do / the wiki says he just uses "sloppy" street fighting w/ elements of kickboxing). plus this is rgg lol. so much bullshit happens in these games, i don't think ryuji taking out scumbags left and right with one arm is unrealistic
