How to Engage. Once upon a Shuckin’Time… A young lad came to @starfishoyster wanting to propose to his girlfriend. Of course, we obliged - The fella chose dessert - as his girlfriend loved our crème brûlée. I figured we would place the ring, on the sugar crust, just under the biscotti (nice and clean) Friday night. The date starts - lovely corner table. The poor kid was pale as a sheet, sweating, and clearly nervous….she bubbly and happily oblivious. Oysters, appetizer, mains….at last time for dessert. I placed the Blinged-Up brûlée to share between the two… and she dove in, he couldn’t eat - nerves…. Meanwhile I may have mentioned the impending betrothment to the entire restaurant - all we’re waiting. She devoured - right up to the biscotti, leaving 1/4 behind - and pushed the brûlée aside - “couldn’t eat another bite” He couldn’t breathe, poor kid. Table check…”How’s your Brûlée?” - Deelish, but can’t eat any more.. I said…with a bottle of @veuveclicquot and glasses behind my back… “Cmon now…just one more bite…” Nope can’t. “Move the cookie…” Pardon me?… 🙄”Move the cookie” and I pushed the cookie to one side…. “Oh!!!A ring!” Let the Proposal begin! Yes She said…finally (Colour flushed back to the kiddos face….)
