Misti Cooper with Skully The Crystal Skull in her arms, is standing at the top of Ixmoja, The largest pyramid at Cobá, one of the Nohoch Mul group of buildings. This pyramid is 138 feet tall and was the heart of the city. It is the only pyramid you can still climb. I stood at the bottom of the 120 steep steps waiting till she reached the top and then capture the moment. As I climbed up to join her and capture images of Skully The Crystal Skull for our book, I got a little shaky at the steepness of the walk up. This is why there’s a thick rope in the middle for safety. The view from the top makes it all worthwhile...peaceful and gorgeous as you feel a light breeze caressing your skin while gazing at the lush 360 view of jungle landscape.
