kuguri seems to associate his mother with crimson (or blood) red as a recurring theme. even with it being his circus ssr scr's main color for the costume just felt like a final nail in the coffin.

red in color psychology is commonly associated with positivity and happiness, passion and excitement. a strong, powerful hue, that can be overpowering at times. which drives in further the negative impressions kuguri has on the color, primarily associating it with blood. (and gore. he does that in sympathy lily too. in fact, the card set we have has changed from something grotesque to what we got. thank tao for this.)

to him, red represents betrayal, the lasting effects of the cruelty his mother had treated him with. it represents violence and bloodshed, just like the very horror story he was put through before.

(if things truly went to his original plans for the PV, the crimson red stained circus amongst the sea of monotonous monochrome surely would make for a spectacle wouldn't it, no? though at the end of the day, it would only serve to recreate how he felt that day in a visual sense. weird way of venting but sure, what the hell.)

bonus: his image color (#DC376E) is close to a pink, fuschia-like color but also red leaning all the same. the apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree, huh? only in this case, at the very least.

Powerscaling HAMA Ward Mayors + Conductors + Acchama

This is all based on the 1st anni story being a survival game with the company split into two team! Ocean VS Air. Added the conductors and Astaroth for fun lmao

Reasons for placements under this cut!

+ Astaroth Tier = Self explanatory. They're a literal demon. Can probably sink that island if they wanted to through an earthquake. Though their biggest nerf is that they're in Toi's body, so any major damage to their host can spell their doom. Not that they care about that!

+ Good Fighter Tier = Primarily consists of characters who have shown combat capability in the stories! Initially would put Ryui and Muneuji down a notch but decided against it since they're the most capable ones of their units on taking down others. Daniel actively trains Nayuki too. Though I dunno if I should have made another tier to put all three (nyk, mnj, ryu) in in terms of fighting experience... Muneuji and Ryui can be rather impulsive? And Nayuki seems to have recently started training but learns quite quick... Whatever! (Not sure about Liguang though if memory serves considering his... occupation, I'd assume so!)

+ Can hold a fight tier = Tao is alone. He can fight really well specifically with ranged weapons but his hand to hand abilities are less than ideal. (Citation: Ev3ns Main Story 1: SideA-001)

+ Has potential tier = Characters that are not fighters but can be absolutely capable if they locked in hard enough! Heavy on Kiroku for this based on Raito's assessment. Yodaka seems to also have some sort of muscle memory towards specific weapons so. I dunno where I'm going with this.

+ Strategy = President's orders are absolute! I do think Kafka would be on the front lines as well, though I'd hate to say his current combat abilities would be a bit limited... (He'd be aware of this, make no mistake!!) Still, considering his intelligence, its a no brainer that he'd excel in coming up with strategies and risk-taking decisions the most.

+ Other survival methods = They're not combatants by any means, but they have other ways to survive! Or at least have certain survival skills that can be useful for the rest of the team. For example, Toi's clairvoyance is really helpful for forseeing any future attacks, etc.!!

+ "I'm sorry" tier = Or characters I have very little hope in. Okay, sure, Chihiro mayyyyy be athletic and has stamina but that's where it ends. We've never seen him actually fight even during the Ev3ns survival audition. The others? Yeah um. You guys get 0.1% of hope from me.

+ Cannot scale tier - Putting the nonhuman duo together is vile. I'm going crazy. I know they've got insane tricks up their sleeves but we won't know exactly what they'd be considering how unpredictable Netaro is and how Kinari would usually follow along with his whims. Sakujiro? He's Sakujiro. Self explanatory.

kuguri's nicknames for the main vocals kind of match (in a way). its cute. maci (teddy bear) and plüss (plushie). this thought keeps me up so late at night. i understand the reasoning for kinyari but taotao... :0 is it just because of a-06. LMAO... whatever u say funny man

i may pick up translating kinari 1.5 novel. someday hopefully. it's 3 chapters how hard can it be

right answer it's DIFFICULT. i did the math bc i had a very scuffed terrible and inconsistent attempt at longform stories in this game. so a novel. yeah? then i just gave up on it after 2 chapters. translated into English it's gonna be roughly around 3k works worth of work. just felt my knees give in.

i feel like i need to put out some personal terms for discussing main vocals related lore stuffs. bc i talk abt them quite often on my bird app account so ig this is kind of a dictionary or sth?? idk.

main vocals - refers kinari and tao, derived from their overseas pair training name (双璧メインボーカルズ - lit. tl - matchless main vocals) can be either /rom or /p but i use it in a platonic context primarily.

ikinari - refers to the original azekawa kinari who died before 1999 ended. seems to be used by other fans as well, not just me so! the i is for distinction purposes, not to be pronounced.

99trio - refers to tao, gozu and ikinari's trio. also widely used by fandom.

99-prefix - how i refer to ikinari and tao! prefix as i use mainvocals as /p alongside their combined names as a romantic ship. i like any iteration of them <3

55-prefix - how i refer to kinari and tao! like the previous one, its a prefix as i use mainvocals as /p alongside their combined names as a romantic ship.

99group/gumi - all of the characters in back to the '99. includes tao, taiki, gozu and ikinari.

quick rambling abt this sequence and how good it highlights the kinaris' differences on their way of living... (translation from here)

(i)kinari wants freedom. he'll stop at nothing to achieve it. he'll gladly risk his life for temporary self-gratification and relief over a temporary state of getting better because he knew he time he had left is scarce. just like the sands in an hourglass, he had very little left and is continuing to dwindle with each passing grain. that's why he chooses his own way of living and dying. why he'd rather die doing the one thing he had left over dying miserable.

that being said, that lack of will and disinterest in freedom is what makes (pre-main story) kinari fundamentally different from him. at that time, he had no other desire than to be with the developer. hell, even the first and last thing he's ever asked of his father was to shut

him off and take him with him. his life used to revolve around his father, which is why being in unfamiliar environments ultimately affects the way he perceived his newfound freedom. with nobody to tie him down, what use does he have? for what reason should he keep living even as a stray? there's no more purpose to be here, is there? but the chief becoming his new master and finding a home within ev3ns turned that lack of purpose on its head.

having found his way to live, he goes on to his next move--finding a way to die on his own terms, just like the original did.
