Same. Someone sent me a really sweet question god only knows how long ago and I had no idea until the last week. I don't understand why some messages get flagged and others dont.
I've been on the site for a few years and have no recollection of the messaging system NOT being wonky. But at least when the little message notification was red, you could see immediately if something had managed to battle its way into your inbox despite nearly insurmountable odds.
It'd also be helpful if they put a date/time on inbox messages, unless that's there and I don't see it.
