@sopml asked me to tell her more about Nolanni’s daughter and I’m so happy to!! ❤️ This is Nolanni and Elera Lavellan (art by celiacelie):

- Elera was conceived before the Crestwood breakup, and Nolanni didn’t find out she was pregnant until Corypheus was dead and Solas was long gone. As far as Noli knows, Solas has no idea that Elera exists.

- Elera’s name translates to “Our Dream” in Elven, as that was how Nolanni and Solas originally bonded, by sharing dreams, and after he disappears, Nolanni only feels his presence when she’s asleep. 

- When on a dangerous mission for the Inquisition, Nolanni would leave Elera in Dagna’s care.

- The mother and daughter often visit Clan Lavellan, it’s important to Nolanni that Elera grows up knowing her family and heritage. 

- Elera knows most of the members of the inquisition as "aunt" or "uncle."

- Cole has been caught in Elera’s bedroom after she's supposedly been put to bed because "she was cold" or "she was lonely" on multiple occasions.

- Nolanni highly values honesty, but purposely chose not to tell Solas about Elera when they met and he revealed the truth about his identity. Whether she did it to protect Elera, or to not distract Solas from saving their people, she wasn’t sure. She hasn’t kept Elera’s birth a secret, but she had never announced it to the public either. She has no way of knowing if Fen’Harel’s agents knew the child existed.

- Following Trespasser, Nolanni made the decision that Elera would be told the complete truth about her father and about elven history. Bedtime stories were compiled of the stories Solas had once told Nolanni. 

- Despite the personal pain she feels, Nolanni has never talked about Solas in a bad light in front of Elera. She never hid any of the “bad side” of Fen’Harel, but she did ensure that Elera knew that Solas did only what he thought was right for their people.

- Morrigan and Nolanni disagree on many things, but there is a pact between the mothers. Should something ever happen to Nolanni, or should the fight for Solas ever become too much, Morrigan will take Elera and raise her in safety.

The moment Solas realizes that he can’t be with Lavellan anymore because, at any moment, his love for her may cause him to abandon his plan and choose a life with her. And he can’t. His people are all relying on him now, and if he doesn’t cut off this loving touch, this swarm of feelings and desire, he will only hurt her more. 

And the moment everything suddenly clicks for Lavellan. The moment all of the hesitation, the regretful stories, and the held back sweet nothings finally make sense. Her lover has seen the world break and has tried so hard not to drag her down with him. But she’s been fooled. It’s too late. The Dread Wolf already has her.
