HIGHLIGHT ONE:
I really love this one in particular, because I just think it sets such a beautiful setting for Indiana’s life with the Harper’s, on the farm, in the house she grew up in. I picture 'Home’ playing in a flashback setting where she’s waltzing into the house for the first summer after having moved to Boston to attend Harvard, after having spent the afternoon tending to the farm and the horses with her father and brother. Her mother and nana have just made a delicious lunch, and she pecks them both on the cheek. Alessia’s just wandered in, and despite their bickering earlier that morning, the two share a smile. I have SO MANY FEELS for this scene. The Harper family is happy, and Indi can’t help but feel content.
HIGHLIGHT TWO:
Right in with the feels as expected, I chose to include ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ for no other reason except that it reminds Indi of her late brother, Lucas. He’d played this song in a car ride once with Alessia and Indiana. The two sisters begged him to turn it off, but he was acting so ridiculous and screaming out the lyrics, the two couldn’t help but laugh to the point of tears. All three of them end up singing to the top of their lungs.. and it’s a memory Indiana will forever cherish. Every time she hears this song, she’s brought right back to that very moment.. and for a while, it feels like she’s really there.
HIGHLIGHT THREE:
If not for anything else, than the beat of the music.. 'breathe’ has such a strong tune, to me, and I really feel it suits Indiana and where she’s at now. With everything she’s been through, with all the complications in her life she’s facing and the dichotomies of who she portrays to the rest of the world, and how she really is inside.. I picture this very song as the soundtrack to a scene where she feels an immense amount of hope, or love, an intense emotion that makes her feel the weight of everything, but she’s strong. She’s strong despite it all.

She’s covered in flour, hair falling from the bun she had tied together hours ago. The room smells like bread, the sun finally waking up from its long nap, a dark shade of orange peeking from behind the blinds. It’s cold outside, probably. With its brisk air and empty streets. She heaves a sigh, air pushing her loose strands to fly, only to fall back in place. Wiping her cheek with the back of her hand, she breathes in steadily to settle her exhaustion, flour staining the side of her face. It didn’t take long before Grace fell into one of her dazes, to fall down the rabbit hole of all she had left behind. It was easy--- to pretend that the past was the past but there couldn’t be anyone that embraced change so easy. Even two or so years from now. Even with a new home, new friends, a new outlook on life. The new couldn’t erase the people that raised her. So, yes. There was guilt. There were shame and fear.
She picks up the dustpan and a dull blue rag, wiping the table. The light from the awakening sun finally peaks and catches the shiny particles of flour in the air, falling in slow motion. She sees this... and she feels at peace. That’s what was so bittersweet about the present. The air around her was sweet and calming, as though the sent of bread had become her own lavender. And she knew, it’d always be sweet. But when did a person never go without guilt as their teeth sunk into a slice of bread? That’s how she felt, almost all day, during most weeks. A part of her nearly felt undeserving towards the gifts the present had to bring. That she couldn’t swallow it whole without looking back at how she got there. Grace knew she wasn’t this story worth writing. She was just a girl that ran away, with no plan and totally nearsighted, unable to look past tomorrow. This was how it was going to be. Her world was now loud and crowded, yet colorful and filled with life. They say it takes a huge turning point in your life to move towards the right direction. So, maybe, this was it. NOLA would be her chance to do it all over again, but this time, on her own accord.
“my father broke my heart long before any guy had a chance to.”
Andrew Sawyer played by Greg Kinnear
Despite his inability to be a sufficient father, or take care of her properly, or remove her from the awfulness that was being raised by her mother.. Sawyer’s dad was a soft soul, soft spoken, the kind who wouldn’t hurt a fly. He caved to his wife’s commands, overlooked all of her awful actions.. the light in his life was his wife. Her fondest memory with him was at seven years old when Andrew made an effort to celebrate Christmas, gifting his daughter with a handmade present. It wasn’t much, but it meant the absolute world to a girl who believed she wasn’t cared for. That she didn’t matter. The girl watched as her mother tore away at her father, until he became nothing but a hollow, shell of a man. He was far too weak to stand up to the woman he loved, and also too in love to deny her of her choices. Yet it only drove him further into an alcoholic abyss. Whether she’ll find it in her heart to ever be able to forgive her father for his part in neglecting her, she’ll never know..
“every mother instils beliefs in their children. mine made me believe i was worthless.”
Carol Ann Sawyer played by Melinda Clarke
Carol should never have been a mother. She was bitter, cold, and constantly accused Sawyer of every problem their family came to face. Addicted to heroin and a variety of forms of narcotics, from the day Sawyer was born.. she faltered to be a mother to her. She may have very well birthed her to the man she married, but that meant nothing for the kind of parent she was to Sawyer. She wasn’t one at all. Her mother threatened her that if she were ever to tell her father, she would be punished. In fear of what her mother told her, Sawyer kept her mouth shut. It was some time after the young girl would understand what her mother’s act meant, and that men paid for her time. Money, used to purchase mind-altering substances. Sawyer would also one day come to realise that her father was well aware of her mother’s choice of activities. There’s no doubt that Sawyer's brokenness lies majorly in the way her mother treated her.. instilling nothing but cynicism in a young child.
“we’ve been friends so long, i can’t remember which one of us is the bad influence.”
Maddie York played by Camilla Luddington
A number of years ago, the amount of time always escapes Sawyer’s brain (and my own), Sawyer was at a random’s 21st birthday.. and it just so happened that that birthday girl threw up on Sawyer’s shoes. Ever since that very moment, the two immersed in a world of drunkenness.. they were the very best of friends. For the first time in her entire life, Sawyer found someone that genuinely cared for her, and was a friend to her regardless of her past or for who she was. Maddie showed her that she was worth caring about, that she was worth hanging out with and being a friend to. Maddie made a girl who had been shown nothing but mistreatment that humanity wasn’t always so bad. Maddie knows a lot about Sawyer, and has treated her like nothing but family from the very first day. She doesn’t think she could ever thank Maddie enough for everything she’s done for her.. but most of all, for giving her hope.
“he might just be the one to change the game.”
Talan Zaretti played by Nico Tortorella
Let’s just say Talan was the unexpected. He’s the guy who’s there for her every step of the way, through the sufferings she’s been through since they met.. never once giving up on her no matter the circumstance. He’s the one proving himself consistently to her, making her believe that maybe, just maybe.. he’s different. You see, Sawyer never got herself into relationships, and if she did.. they certainly wouldn’t last as long as a year like these two have. Around a year ago, a drunken Sawyer ambled into Jester’s Ink with the crazy idea, thanks to alcohol, to get a tattoo on her ass. An amused Talan obliged, finding the entire ordeal hilarious. When confronting him the day she woke up and noticed the tattoo on her behind.. she stormed into Jester’s with a vengeance, only to be stumped by the charm and wit of the guy who tattooed her. For the longest time she truly believed she hated him, but.. there’s a fine line between love and hate, isn’t there?
The Harper family have been through more than most families should have to endure. Adeline and John raised their three children, Indiana, Alessia and Lucas on a farm in rural New Orleans. They saw their eldest go to Ivy League, their middle move to New Orleans and their youngest light up every room he walked into.
Tragedy struck when John and Lucas were killed in a car accident. Lucas, being the glue that held the siblings together took with him the insecure bond between the sisters. For a few months, the three Harper women once again lived together on the family farm as they tried to deal with their grief, something they realised would never really go away.
The three women are doing everything they can to make sure the family business and farm stay open and running, but with points of tension mixed in with their relationships, can they become stronger as they overcome their loss?
Luke is Maddie’s brother and her best friend. Because of the age difference between the two of them, Maddie has always seen him as a protector and truly struggled being away from her brother when he moved to college. Although the two spent years apart with them both at college, travelling and establishing their careers, the two are still close and are now back in the same city. They might have their differences sometimes, they might fight, bicker and tease each other, but Maddie knows just how lucky she is to have Luke as a brother.

In love
When an Aquarius woman falls in love, she will follow her feelings for as long as she is unrestricted and free to be herself. The unconscious fear of losing her personality to other people often makes her vulnerable to any sort of expectations and tries to turn her into something she is not. Still, in almost every Aquarius woman’s life comes a time to “grow up” and realize that a certain amount of love should be enough for her to have a family, raise children and take care of her husband. This is probably the hardest thing for her to do, and a decision like this should be respected and understood as the ultimate act of love, even when it seems entirely rational.
Sexuality
She needs a partner who is interesting enough and doesn’t care much about the taboos of modern society. If she wants to show her sexuality in a certain way, she will probably do that in spite of everyone’s opinion and not at all subtly. Her rational mind will in most cases keep her from making scenes, but she is very interested in all sorts of sexual experiments and this includes outdoor sex and sometimes the display of intimacy in the strangest places you can imagine. She shouldn’t be with a narrow minded person or anyone who perceives her as unladylike.
In a relationship
She is exciting, unpredictable, and not someone to choose to be with, if you are searching for a stable, secure relationship without waves and emotional challenges. She doesn’t like to be tied down, although she will do anything for the right partner, and unless she feels her biological clock ticking, she will not give in to the formal expectations of a relationship. The most important thing one should keep in mind when starting a relationship with this woman, is that she can be swept off her feet only by respect and a surprise or two in return.
