“The Aldecaldo family was the first true nomad family to form, though at the time they were not nomads, but casualties of the city of Los Angeles. Juan Aldecaldo lost his wife to cancer, his daughter to a car accident, and his son to gang violence. When the media bothered Juan at the scene of the crime, his reply was replayed on television screens across America. Juan’s brief oratory about the government and the police caused a reaction he did not anticipate. At his son’s funeral, there were thousands of people. Juan was tired of seeing others forced to bear the same loss he had. So the disaffected left in the night, almost five thousand strong: those who were living on the same blocks as Juan and those who were just fed up with the city.

Juan led the nation for years before passing away in 2015. A man by the name of Santiago met Juan Aldecaldo shortly before the great man’s death. He was given a mission: he had to help the Aldecaldo, so they could help others. It was not a responsibility he took lightly, or in fact easily, but he did take it” (pg 28-30).

What’s a jekit?

The Jekit (singular, Jekiti) are diminutive sapient creatures of a decidedly more avian persuasion, resembling nothing less than a compromise between the forms of feathered theropod dinosaurs and human beings. Native to Uginar.

Their hunched frames stand roughly five feet high. They have powerful legs with clawed feet and dexterous tails. While slightly more limited in power compared to humans, their arms are roughly as functional with three-fingered hands.

They are effectively the goblins of this world, as their society has only recently began to emerge in the last 150,000 years, when before they were thought of as mere animals.

As of 399, over half the Jekit population live in remote villages where human contact is limited; while the other half have, with mixed success, integrate themselves into human societies. Several nomad clans proudly welcome the bird-people into their communities, who appreciate their willingness to do neccessary tasks most humans find unpleasant (such as handling refuse and butchering animals, activities few Jekit don't actively enjoy) and their relatively minimal needs. They are also increasingly becoming present in the rural communities of Okuron.

The Cult of the Sapphire Eye deem Jekit to be blasphemous in appearance, repulsive in behavior, and insipid in nature; and thus slaughter them mercilessly in their crusade.

What languages are there on Ith? Are the most common languages similar to eachother (like English is similar to French) or are they very different (like Chinese is very different from English)

Are foreign languages taught to the children?

There are as many spoken languages on Ith as there are are in this world, if not more, and many more that have been forgotten.

Of the 70 nations and city-states that make up Theyda, at least 42 of them commonly speak languages that are either descended from or were heavily influenced by the Theyan language. These languages include (but are not limited to) Stalanese, Bostian, Iacori, Hestaxian, Eastern-Heshori, Kazinadan, and Atharan; among others.

In Uginar; there are a great number of languages that come from the myriad nomad clans, including a few that have come into being due to exposure to Theydan tongues, all of this on yop of a greater number of regional dialects. The Kingdom of Okuron recognizes at least 200 commonly spoken languages within it's borders, though the official language of it's ruling class is Hazar.

As of now, the only people who bother to learn foreign languages are those people whose lifestyle necessitates travel.

How big is the biggest tree

There was once a curious tree found in the east of Uginar that was actually an entire orchard of fruit bearing trees that ancient nomads had cultivated and weaved together into a massive super-organism. It stood well over 400 feet and it covered an area of what we would call at least two city blocks . It's base served as a sacred burial ground for no less than 62,000 years before it was engulfed in dragon-fire in the year 287. The spree of revenge hunts that followed lead to the near-extinction of the Bluefaced Mandu.

Popular children names and their meanings?

Aji: A gender-neutral name used by many Ajaeist parents. Seen all over Theyda and in the Kingdom of Okuron. Variations include Ag'e, Aja, Aje, Og, and Oje.

Doron: "dor" is a word from the Stalanese language meaning gold. This name can, of course, be seen in the Stalan Empire and it's neighboring states.

Gonba: A name originating among the mountain nomads in western Uginar. In those dialects, "gonba" is the word used in reference to large winged dragons. Though this name began as a title awarded to anyone who could single-handedly slay such creatures, it has since been adopted and appropriated throughout much of Uginar and has found its way into Kazinada and surrounding lands.

Jana: A northern Uginaran name made in reference to a rare large orange and purple flower called a "Jana Awa" that is said to have magical healing properties and can grant good luck if planted near one's home. The name can be gender-neutral but is most common in girls.

Motch: A boy's name drawn from the Bostian word for what we would call white chocolate.

Pari: A girl's name from Iacor, meaning "very cute". It's becoming a recent trend in surrounding areas to give the name to boys though and may soon shift its gender connotations entirely.

Somoth: A name originating from the Molothogi islands. It is a word used to interchangeably refer to whales and large aquatic dragons.

Vad: A name from the City of Torn. It's linguistic origin is lost, but it was the name of the city's first chancellor Vad Tanareo II.

Yo: A name that can found all over the western half of Theyda. It comes from Du Djim, meaning "first/one". It is ofcourse often given to firstborns.

What are the old folk complaining that the young folk have now?

In the Heshori Union....

"Bah, kids these days and their 'money'. Why back in my day, if you wanted someone to give you something, you had to offer something they wanted in return. *Pulls out a handful of bronze coins incredulously* Who in Twelve Realms wants these useless pieces of metal? Your not even allowed to melt em down or make arrow heads with em!"

In parts of Uginar...

"Oh so you think you're so special cause you and your friends shit in the same hole do ya!"

"Grandma, please just use the outhouse."

In the Kingdom of Okuron...

"Keep that demon away from me!"

"It's okay Dad, it's just a puppet! Please come down from there, the children are laughing at us!"

Gay rights on Ith?

Iacor, Okuron, and Kazinada are the top three nation-states most universally tolerant of homosexuality per capita. There is also notable lack of taboo towards gayness amoungst tge Uginaran nomad clans.

Trans people?

Well they certainly exist. If your wondering how society treats them; I'd say that the Nomad Clans, the Heshori Union, and the Molothog Islands for sure have little to no hang ups about transgendered people, I'd even go so far as to say it is normalized among the Molothogi especially. As for elsewhere, I suppose that depends on what local opinions on gender is. No major religion concerns itself with this subject, although, I imagine the Cult of the Sapphire Eye would look down on any transman or transwoman who doesn't express their gender in aesthetically pleasing manner.
