pagan book recommendations please! 🌈💕
Here’s books I’ve read or own they aren’t perfect and in some cases I might not have even fully read them so read/buy with care!
Artemis: The Indomitable Spirit in EverywomanThere’s also Goddesses in Everywoman which has different gods, even one for everyman. It’s a bit binary and I don’t know if I’d like it as much as I did originally since I as never in love with the Artemis book. But I did enjoy bits like it talking about Katniss being an Artemis archetype.
If Not, Winter by Sappho I joke that this is my holy text because seeing Sappho talk about Artemis and Eros feels very.. I dunno divine to me.
Divine Aces: Asexual Gods and Goddesses is actually part of a book that you can just google and find it’s an article and it’s overall poor in areas but it’s also a joy to see such a big name…mmm easy to find group just be like “Here’s who we think are asexual deities and briefly why.”
I’ve mentioned I like the Witches’ Spell-A-Day books because I feel like most I could easily use it supply wise or I’d ignore the supplies and still like the words of the spell.
Literary Witches this one is a literally questionable because it’s using witch as a non-religious and non-spell casting type of person which I feel is fine on a number of levels if not taken super literally. When I first got this I wanted to use it like a funky tarot deck and just flip to a bio when I was lost or seeking guidance.
Basic Witches - More of a self help book with spells but it’s nice to see it push a sex positive that isn’t just like own your sex drive and mentions non-binary people which is nice since a lot of witchy stuff is focused on women. This still does, but like, it’s still nice to see.
Oh! I also have a Kitchen Witch’s Cookbook I haven’t used it to cook a single thing. The recipes are kind-of hard. But it’s exactly what I wanted in a cookbook. Tells you things like what oranges are used for in magic, and there’s a section by types of food or a holiday reference. But I’m not a good kitchen witch in any respects.
