Late night thoughts on being pansexual in the south.
My partner and I are both pansexual and currently we both appear to others as our assigned birth genders. Where I live isn’t the most accepting towards gender queer or non-cis sexualities, so in a way I’m glad that we can pass as straight. I am assamed of that fact but also saddened knowing that no matter how hard I tried to explain to them, my family with never understand the depth of my love for my partner. It also makes me feel akward infront of openly gay partners or queer partners. They have something just as beautiful as we do, but may always be treated lower than us because of social stigma against them. Knowing that I have any kind of privilege than others completely disgusts me. It is horrid to consider any one person, let alone two people, lesser based solely on appearances. I love all my friends and would gladly give up anything for them to know that there are good people in the world that believe every human should be treated as a human.
