The Dreamsnatcher

A legend my Temperance OCs had an involvement in written as a little taste of the character development that will come in the next arc. 

No one knows when the legend of the Dreamsnatcher began. Some say, the legend is as old as Gaia and took on many shapes with each generation. The tale is believed to be born in a town where present-day Hobbs now stands and re-emerged during a wave of kidnapping children believed to be sparks in 7550. Each variation of the story include the same details: a ghoulish beast spirits the children away who wander outside of the main square and the children are then delivered to a grim lair where they must endure nightmares for all eternity.

Some say, this is a moral story to keep children from disobeying their parents. Others doubt the supernatural aspects of the story in the time where serial killers aren’t strangers in society. Then, there are those unsure what to think.

In 7593, the Dreamsnatcher legend came back to light when four young girls vanished during a heavy rain shower in Hobbs Town’s residential section. The bodies of three of the girls were found in the neighboring town--their eyes wide-eyed as if they have seen a ghost with cultist markings etched in ink on their bodies. No one knows what happened to the fourth girl. Everyone assumes she was unlucky to escape.
