(i am a car-brained suburban american who understands that cars are a major problem while still feeling a bit sentimental about cars as a private little quiet space* between all the shit and driving as a meditation but) i just think it's endearing to think about i guess

And I still couldn’t tell you the words lol. But yes, thank you. Definitely put a lot of man hours into all those horse doodles. I tried to add a lot of little fun details in too, so people could catch something new with each re-watch.

Quick Note

I’m sorry I’ve been a bit lax on some of my regular posts. With all the holidays in Korea and hosting a party at the last minute plus trying to get that SMTM video together, planning for my panel this month and taking care of some minor crises with my charity show CLASH, I’ve been running behind. Not to mention I’m utterly exhausted from working so many 6-day weeks and now covering the 7 a.m. shift while my co-worker is on vacation. I will try to get something out about releases tomorrow when I get off work if I don’t pass out on the couch like I did today. And I’ve finished transcribing the Skizzo interview (all 14 pages of it) so I’m hoping to get that article written and posted this week.

And I will try to get to the ask about the song with some of the ladies from Unpretty Rapstar this week as well. I’ve been so busy with everything that I haven’t had the chance to listen to it yet, but I will try to make time! I also have Deepflow and P-Type’s albums on my “must listen to” list, though I don’t know if I’ll have time to sit down and write reviews. I’m working on getting an interview with Deepflow, so I might just save my thoughts for that. I start late shift next week for the rest of the month, so I should in theory have more time to get posts up and work on other interviews.

Hopefully next month when I go back to regular day shift I can start taking days off for my weekend shifts and get work done on a more regular basis. However, I am going to Summer Sonic in Osaka in August, so I probably won’t be giving up too many 6-day shifts so I can get that paid for. (Expect updates on that... we’re planning to catch Pharrell Williams and Macklemore and Ryan.) Summer is just way to busy in the music world. Too many releases to keep track, too many concerts and festivals to afford... But I will do what I can! 

Sorry guys! Bear with me! However I will say that the top of my priority list is getting more interviews and posting those more regularly, so look forward to that! Hopefully....

This Weekend

I apologize that I haven’t been posting as much. Work has been crazy and I've been a bit... disoriented... with the blog. But never fear! I’m planning to go to King Kong’s showcase tomorrow night so I’ll get video and pictures from that. Maybe write something about “Strum.” And I’m currently trying to organize a plan of attack for some interviews. A lot of folks that I had initially planned to interview are not available at the moment for various reasons, so I’m stuck waiting around for a bit. And the video interview is currently being re-edited, so that release is getting pushed back. 

So, at the moment I’m just looking and asking around, trying to figure out who I have contact for that is available now or relatively soon that I’m interested in interviewing, who is interested in being interviewed. (Sheesh, that was a mouthful...)

And I switch to late shift next week for a bit, which puts a kink in the plans. It means I’ll have more time to write since there is basically next to nothing to do at work. However, it makes doing interviews incredibly hard because I’m only available in the mornings until about 2 p.m. (The work shift is from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) And from experience, rappers and people in music are not too keen on doing interviews in the morning. And even if they were open to being interviewed at 11:30 p.m., it’s difficult to get translators at that hour. So, yea, bit of a conundrum.

So we shall see. There are a couple of guys from Shining Ground that I could set up interviews with right away, but I’m also interested in doing something on new crews. I promised that I would try and do something on 쪼들, but outside that I really want to try and look into A Tribe Called Next.

I really need to dust off my contact book and start sending out Kakaos... Seriously getting bored with life without doing interviews and writing...
