It is disappointing. I would have loved to see Betty and Veronica get together. There is a male gay character who has been given some screen time and has love interests, but knowing how shows do they will feel they have fulfilled their queer quota with him, so Ronnie probably won't be bi even though i think that would make the most sense for her character.
Yeah, the sum total of my Archie/Riverdale knowledge is basically just the two posts I posted earlier. I guess we should be happy that there’s a gay character at all, but a gay person who doesn’t have any gay friends seems pretty unrealistic.
Sounds like the same treatment Supergirl is getting. Her sister is gay so now they’re forcing a toxic white boy love interest on Supergirl even though she’s had more chemistry and a stronger relationship with a woman. (And also ignoring the wonderful black man in her life.) They’ve hit their gay quota so they won’t even consider having another wlw couple.
disney channel has a limit on how far a show can go. thats why a show as popular as liv and maddie stopped at season four. GLC was at its final season and they lovingly added the two moms. but yea disney didnt cancel glc, its how they work their shows (up to four seasons max)
Suite Life of Zack and Cody/Suite Life on Deck. A combined six seasons. 158 episodes and a movie. On Deck got similar ratings to GLC.
Disney will break their four season rule if they actually like you.
It’s plausible that GLC really was just ending. I’ll acknowledge that. It’s quite a coincidence though.
Someone remind me to never mention GLC again.
Love this cover and decided it was a thing more people needed to hear. I was already impressed with the performance and then she says what she says at the end...

Sabrina Carpenter, Right Now ~
I'm worried for Rowan's safety. People, young and old are bashing her and sending her hateful tweets. Also, there's a possibily that some men might harass her just because she came out as queer. There's a part of me that wants to celebrate this moment, alas! A young disney star came out, there will be representation for the young queer community. But also, there's a part of me that wishes for this issue to die down quickly, so that people would leave her alone.
I wish I knew what to say about this. I wish people weren’t so quick to anger. At least we know Rowan is a discerning and intelligent person who hopefully can endure the hate without being overcome by it. She’s had haters for ages because of her feminist views and has likely developed some skills for coping with them.
And as disappointing (if expected) as the hate from the heteronormative crowd has been, I find myself even further let down to see the mockery she’s getting from some people in the LGBT+ community. Admittedly, even I was a little...perplexed...by her explanation. The “Q” word is a sensitive topic, even among some of the outest and proudest. I’m in the “+” part of LGBT+ and I don’t choose to use the word myself. However, I trust Rowan enough to believe that if she’s using that word then it must apply to something that she’s feeling.
But even for those who don’t trust her that much, to greet her with harsh words and anger seems so unnecessary. Sometimes anger is justified. Sometimes seeing your anger is the only thing that can reach some people, the only thing that can give them pause enough to appreciate that something is wrong. That said, Rowan has proven herself capable of listening to the concerns of others. She’s an intelligent and compassionate young woman who has done nothing to warrant the level of bitterness that is heaped upon her.
However she identifies, whatever mistakes she may make, she is someone who sees the injustice in this world and uses her voice to help. I want her to find whatever her truth is and live it in happiness. Even if she later settles on identifying as straight, she’ll still have my support. However bothered anyone may be by the labels she applies to herself, bitterness and vitriol never accomplish anything. No matter the reason, whether you’re an LGBT+ person who doesn’t believe she deserves to use the word or a straight person who feels your way of life is being threatened by the simple fact that non-straight people exist, sending hate to a 14 year old on the internet will never make the world a better place.
