Day 25: Skirt
Shopping with the Winchesters is boring. They only ever go when too many of their clothes are ripped beyond repair or shredded on hunts, and aways buy the same thing. Several pairs of the same jeans they’ve been buying for years, flannels, undershirts, Jack’s bored of it. He stands with Sam and Dean, they don’t pay attention to him. Jack wanders off in search of some more interesting clothes. He ends up in the woman’s section without realizing. He sifts through the graphic t-shirts. A grey ACDC shirt catches his eye. He goes to the pants section.
The skirt is black and pinstriped. It has deep pockets that would probably fit most everything he uses in the bunker, it at least fits his phone when he tests. The waist is belted with a strip of black fabric tied into a bow. He grabs the one that looks closest to his size and ducks into a changing room to try it on. It’s slightly shorter than it should be and falls about midway down his shins, and the bow needs to be loosened, but when Jack looks at himself in the mirror it looks perfect. He spins like he’s seen in the movies, enjoying the way the fabric flows around him.
Jack takes it off quickly after. It’s different, Sam and Dean may not let him buy it. But they never look too closely about what’s in the cart, they wouldn’t notice if Jack sneaks a few things in. He folds up the skirt and leaves the changing room. He takes the shirt too, and a maroon cardigan he likes the texture of. He manages to sneak them into the cart before the Winchesters notice his return. They scold him for wandering off but don’t notice the additions when they check out.
The skirt goes back on the second he gets to his room, along with the t-shirt and the cardigan. He can’t get the smile off his face as he spins again. Jack decides to pretend he’s not wearing anything different when he leaves his room. A knock makes Jack practically jump out of his skin. Castiel opens the door. He starts talking about a hunt they needed to research for but pauses when he sees the outfit.
“I like your skirt. It’s pretty. Anyways,” He keeps talking as he leaves the room and Jack follows him.
