I think the situation with my homophobic parents and my sexuality is currently in a "don't ask, don't tell" state. Which, better than the alternative.
We went shopping last Sunday (dad REALLY needed new shoes) and we got me a pair of pride socks (which I deliberately did not call pride socks, but instead "funky rainbow socks, look at 'em, I love them :D"); since I'm not one to want much at all, especially when it comes to clothes, they just quietly complied.
I don't think they aren't aware it was a pride thing; they aren't stupid. They probably didn't want to argue on a Sunday right before we headed to church, but the fact that they didn't bring it up later makes me think they either don't know what to do with that suspicion or don't want to confirm it and have to enforce dad's word to "kick out either kid if they turned out a 'homosexual'".
(Before you yell at me: yes, all the guidelines for going out were followed thoroughly, and church is limiting local attendance to 30% and once a day. No need to freak out over Reckless Christians™️)
Not gonna lie, being in this limbo is kind of making me nervous. But hey, I got pride socks out of it so, silver linings.
