It’s winter break, so I’ve been just searching small personal projects to do, so I went around and messed with the Indexed color mode in photoshop (under images), and edited the Mouth Moods album art to the palette of a bunch of pride flags. (In reading order: Lesbian, LGBTQ, Bi, Pan, Ace, Aro, Trans, and NB)
Overall, I think the easiest one might’ve been the Lesbian flag, though the Ace flag was also pretty easy. The NB and Aro ones also turned out quite well (I did the Aro one last, and the main way I justified doing yet another one of these, was that the colors looked like they’d turn out well. I think the general pride flag probably turned out the worst, or at least the most muddled looking. Probably because it’s a bunch of different colors with roughly the same brightness/saturation, so there’s really no great highlight/shadow colors. That, and just how many there are, which prevents it from having that shadowed look that the bi one does. For some reason I’m somewhat surprised by how nice the pan one looks, probably because of how different it is from the original.
The trans one is the way it is just because of how shadow-intensive(?) the original cover art is. I made a bunch of alternates of some of these, including some of the Mouth Moods outtakes (which is the original but cropped and, crucially for the trans flag, inverted), which I think I’ll include in a reblog.
These are totally free to use, btw. Credit would be appreciated, but I don’t really mind if you don’t. Also, if you have photoshop, I’d encourage you to sorta play around with some of this stuff, as these were fairly easy/quick to do (I always just got a file of the flag, applied the indexed colors mode to it, and then did the ‘previous’ button on the actual image. There was a custom option, but I couldn’t figure out how to use it here).
