Mod help I’m coming out as nonbinary at work and don’t like the title of Mx… does mof know of any alternatives?

Yes! You can also use:

-your title or job (ex: Tr for teacher, Dr for doctor)

-M (short for mist instead of mister/mistress)

-Mm (short for mistrum which is the gender neutral versus of mister/mistress)

-Ind (individual)

-Per (person)

-X (like mx, but without the m)

And anything else you want. Make up your own if you can’t find one you like and mod wishes you good luck anon!

ok wait can we PLEASE have a nonbinary title similar to captain or doctor??? maybe Cr. (pronounced Cap-tor??) or possibly Zr (Zir or Zoctor?) im just really underwhelmed by existing options like Mx because they sound weird said allowed? let me know what yall think

New word for nonbinary aunt/uncle: untle Just uncle with a t. A surprisingly simple blend of the two words. Easy for small ones to pronounce and can go to 'unty' like 'aunty'

My little sister was trying to remember a term for a non-binary aunt/uncle and she said niffler, and that is what I am now going to be if I ever get niblings. I shall receive chocolate coins and be Niffy for short. I am all powerful now.

Hello, I am a cis person educating myself on the various gender identities. Is there any non-binary or genderfluid honorifics? (Mr., Mrs., Sir, Madam, for male and female).

I think the most common is Mx. A couple others are Misc. and Ind. Here is a Wikipedia article detailing these 3.

I'm a homosexual female and I started dating someone recently and they just told me that they're non binary. I still want to date them but what am I suppose to call them (like boyfriend girlfriend etc) and does that make me pan?

I’d talk to them about the name thing. They might be comfortable with boyfriend or girlfriend but they might prefer partner, or something else; it depends on the person.

About the sexuality. I’m not 100% sure. When you entered the relationship you thought they were female so I guess it still makes you homosexual. Technically I guess you are pansexual, but if you aren’t normally attracted to non binary people as well as binary then you could still call yourself homosexual. If I’m wrong please correct me!

The teacher thing, I would (agender) probably just have the kids refer to me by a nickname. Like how I've had teachers I've called Sirn, Corn and Jab. Probably have them call me Lior or something. No prefix basically.

Hello! Could you just say what nb words would be instead of Mrs/Mr/etc, or ma'am or sir? And any more if you know them? Thanks so much! Also, how do you think I could explain genderflux to my friend who supports me, but just doesn't get it? Thanks so much!

For titles, the only thing I could think of off the top of my head was Mx, and that some countries will let your legal gender be X (instead of M or F).  But I googled it and there’s this handy list of neutral terms to call people.

As for explaining it, I’ll just tell you what I tell people for my feelings that they seem to understand.  Sometimes I feel feminine, and want to wear lipstick and a cute bra and be noticed as a girl.  Other times, I don’t feel feminine, and want to curl up in the middle of my bed, covered in blankets, just quietly existing.
