Oooooh My Bloody Valentine is new! I'm planning ahead for - surprise surprise - Valentine's Day for BG3. Specifically I was inspired by this post of an anatomical heart made of flowers and knew instantly that I wanted to make it something to do with Durgetash haha

I have nothing but notes written for it at the moment, no actual prose or dialogue, but it's set after the Gondian Hall heist which in my canon took place in 1477DR or Chapter 3 of KTMTB. Gortash tried to catch Kassara's attention by murdering a drunk and placing a rose in his severed hand, and so several days after the heist, Kassara reciprocates with a floral display of her own...

I'm enjoying working on the idea of it already because Kass prior to Bhaal's resurrection is just so delightfully unhinged and sexy and violent in all the worst ways. I don't get to write her enough in comparison to post-resurrection Kass who is understandably more subdued. I'm hoping it'll be fun! And maybe I'll get time to do some art for it too!

Micheal didn’t know where he was. 

That was a lie. It looked like he was standing in his childhood garden. The petunias his mother had helped him plant for his tenth birthday bloomed next to his feet and he traced the winding path leading to the house with his eyes. The garden had been his pride and joy. 

The only problem was that this place had been torn down and replaced with a condo when he was 19. It couldn't be real. 

That didn’t stop Micheal from walking the paths. The only noise was the gentle crunch of gravel under the sensible shoes that Ms.Robinson had insisted on for their trip. 

It really was a beautiful day. The sun was out and bathed everything in warmth and light. So unlike the dusty archives. He could smell something one the breeze- it took him a moment to identify the sweet scent of his grandmother’s cake twinning with his father’ cornbread. 

It hurt his heart to smell them, both smells had vanished from his life by the time he grew into his teenage years. They had moved his grandmother to a nursery home when he was 13. After that his father slowly began taking more jobs farther afield. 

He wanted to cry for what he had lost, for the death of these sweet childhood memories. Instead Micheal found himself smiling- they may be dead but so was he. 

Oh. 

Oh. 

He wasn't sure where the knowledge came from only that it was true. He was dead and this was his afterlife; eternity in his mother’s gardens at the only place that had ever felt like home. Gentle and sweet. A perfect eternity. 

“Micheal?” A voice called, one that he recognized. Micheal spun, heart beating a gleeful dance against his rib cage. 

“Elias,” he murmured. The man before him wasn’t the smug and snide man who had spent so many years trading pointed looks with Gertrude. It was his Elias. 

His hair hung around his ears in an unbrushed mess that was somehow still stylish. He had chipped paint on his nails and his usual loose and free smile on his lips. His deep brown eyes were as comforting as they had always been. Micheal didn't process much else apart from the frantic pitter-pat of his heart as he raced across the garden to heave Elias’ small frame into his arms. 

“Hey Mickey,” Elias whispered into his shoulder. “It’s been a while.”

So it had. Micheal didn't know what had happened, what had changed Elias so deeply. He did know that the head of the institute had not been the same man as the one Michael now held in his arms. 

“It has,” Micheal paused to enjoy this perfect moment. How dearly he had missed the warmth and joy of having Elias in his arms. “We have all the time we could ever want now.”

@pensivetense asked for this as well even though the screenshot isn’t showing up so--killing two birds in one stone with this one!!!

Okay so--this one is essentially the third chapter to a fic that I already have up on my AO3, but which I will not link because in hindsight I think it is actually poorly written. But it’s essentially the myth of the Flying Dutchman as cast with TMA characters, sort of like how people do Beauty and the Beast AUs.

The Flying Dutchman legend is that a sailor got cursed to wander the oceans forever, alone except for a ghost crew. He only gets to return to shore once every 6 years, for six months, during which time he can seek love. If he can find someone (a woman, in the version I heard) who can love him and be faithful for the rest of her life, then the curse will be broken. But no one really is willing to be faithful to some dude they only knew for 6 months who then ditches for 6 years sooooooo. You can imagine how that goes.

But anyway! That’s PERFECT for TMA! Why hasn’t anyone done it yet besides me?

(the answer is that no one else is interested in 19th century melodrama and opera but shhhhhh don’t bully me for my weird interests)

Anyway! I decided to cast it to be Jon/Martin but at first I was like “....Peter Lukas???? LonelyEyes???”

Reasons I didn’t make it LonelyEyes

There is no way Peter would consider sailing the ocean alone forever a curse. That would just be him living the dream.

Because of this, the whole idea would have to be made Funny to work.

It is much more difficult for me to write comedy than it is to write angst.

I don’t know if the way I would write Peter would appeal to most of his fans??? Like I see a lot of people go “Oh Peter, how tragic, he was brainwashed as a child and never gets to know True Human Connection.” But honestly? To me Peter Lukas has my ideal evil life.

Like seriously, if you put a gun to my head and told me to kin an avatar, it would be Peter Lukas. Avoiding everyone??? Fucking off on a boat???? Only emerging from the fog to go “boo!” at Martin??? That’s everything I would do in TMA universe if I lost all my morals.

Human connection what human connection. I have a boat.

So anyway, the fic ended up being Jon/Martin because that would be angstier.
