Batman vs Gambling Fever & Fearlessness

I just read Bat 305 in which Batman is hypnotized into having "gambling fever", a particular sort of recklessness that makes him believe luck will consistently be on his side and the bigger risk taken the better. And it was interesting to compare it to tec 571 in which Batman is exposed to a fear toxin variant that causes recklessness via removing one's fear. The major difference is Robin. When he has Robin to protect and save, he's able to push through the reckless impulses using him as a focus, but, in Bat 305, he doesn't so much temper his impulses as lean into them cleverly.
