Let's talk about the meme of white trans women having had a "nazi phase". This is seriously not okay. . White trans communities in general have a significant problem with racism, and it's stunning to see how many white trans folks are oblivious to this. Just about every trans person of colour I follow has described feeling othered because of their ethnicity in trans spaces. If your feed is excessively white, you have to do something about that - white people aren't the only people in the trans community. . How do you think openly joking about having had a "nazi phase" is going to help foster a sense of community? How do you think trans people of colour are going to react to seeing that not only are there former nazis in our midst, but that they feel comfortable enough to openly talk about it? . Now look, people can change and nazis can be rehabilitated. I have to believe that, otherwise the idea of prison abolition makes no sense. . But if you treat your "nazi phase" as anything other than a stain on your soul that you need to commit for the rest of your life to removing, you need to give your head a shake. .
