im esp interested in haruki / juno / samuel BUT ngl learning about gary goldfish airport would be funny

1 - Whitney’s my favorite, she looks cool and her design communicates her vibe pretty well. when she started the revolution she changed her identity (including her appearance), and found she liked being more masculine and embracing her “””ugly””” features, and i think thats cool for her and fits the message of the story :). she did keep her wedding ring though, and still wears it despite being separated for like 25 years…..

2 - i relate to Samuel and Juno a lot, but Juno a bit more. Quiet, easily overwhelmed, struggles with depression and suicidal ideation, waiting for a chance to medically transition, lonely but struggles to make new friends, dislikes her authority figures but also takes advantage of her good relationships with them, etc. We also have a pretty similar hairstyle 

7 - i loveee making my characters weird and flawed and difficult >:) 

samuel - constantly trying to be cool and charismatic and flirty even when it is Not A Good Time For That

juno - very stubborn, tries to stay with a plan even when its obviously not working 

whitney - doesn’t apologize (unless theres some other benefit for herself)

tabitha - upsets people on purpose , just for their own entertainment.   (ragebaiting queen) 

gary - very insensitive, never seems to think about consequences for his actions. also subtly sexist/racist/ableist/homophobic/etc!

haruki - very much a bystander, sees bad things happen to people and just tries to move on like it never happened

cameron - makes promises they can’t/don’t follow up on 

9 - i think the comic (Cold Hands And Sharp Teeth) would work reallyyyy well as a movie (or even a play). PG13, maybe R. i think live action would work better, but mixing in some 2d animation effects would be really cool (like to show emotions). also, Gary would be acted by Jack McBrayer. 

in the comic, there are pages that are magazine pages from their world, so in a movie maybe those could be adds inserted into the movie? (would be really funny to have people surprised by adds on an add-free service and then realize its part of the movie). 

extra! (5) - i made these little paper dolls of the cast, and they sit on my desk :) sorry for the weird photo, i didnt want to include anything dox-able, and most of them have outdated designs or include spoilers 💔

samuel (Harrison) and juno (binti Faisal) are the only ones with last names right now :( because uh naming characters is hard and i take shortcuts lol

i’m joining in on ReqBodyPosi (started by nwarrior777)! Send me asks (or reblog/comment) with features outside the beauty norms (“”insecurities””) that you want to see in art, and i’ll make designs including them. i’m especially interested in visible disabilities and facial differences, different cultures/ethnicities, and trans/intersex/gnc stuff :)

no guarantees, but i’d like to do as many as i can :D

(designs will probably be used as side/background characters in my personal comic)

the only rules are, no nsfw/fetish stuff, and only real world stuff (no fantasy/sci fi).

is there a reason for the mantis? is it just like a favourite animal, does it have any meaning, is it a symbol for something or does it have some cool lore or fact behind it that makes you want to keep it as the mascot? (and if i were to draw a lil mantis chibi would you like that, would you take it as a blog pet or mascot)

praying mantises are one of my favorite animals, i just think theyre really neat. i started using it as a profile picture a while ago in other places and i’ve kept it since :)

my fursona is a cat/praying mantis hybrid. i’m still pretty inexperienced with furries, but i did a doodle of him (still need to figure out his design though…)

i really appreciate the offer, but i dont think id have much use for a mascot since im still mostly just reblogging (and ive already got a persona). thank you so much for the offer though!

(and thank you for all the interactions and asks! especially the reqbodyposi one, i’ve been busy but i hope i can draw it soon :D)
